His name is Jaws, he's from Kortac (mostly because that's easy to just drop an oc in). How did this bug guy get his callsign? Welp, he's afraid of sharks. Not even the ocean, just sharks specifically. Giant, 50 foot octopus? Eh, whatever. Give him a shake plush? He's sweating, just a little.

That also means that I've been silently begging for a Ki-o-c (see what I did there?) for however long I've been on this blog. I mean ever since I made a little doodle with @military-title-red @thomas-military-rp @angelotopinopinton and @a-phoenix-must-burn (go check them out and give them a little kiss on the head for me or else) I've been thinking about getting a Kio made oc to be friends with Red :3

Plus- if I can get @discordantcongregate to let me play with their oc's, we'll have so many groups!!

Ma comunque, nelle giornate di lunedì e martedì, in quel di Seattle (presso il Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute) sono state somministrate le prime 8 dosi (una per ogni paziente) del vaccino antiCOVID19, chiamato "mRNA-1273", a 8 dei 45 pazienti sani, i quali si sono offerti per la ricerca. Verranno somministrate, in tutto, due dosi ad ognuno di loro, a 28 giorni di distanza, per studiarne gli effetti sul sistema immunitario (eventuali piccoli anticorpi prodotti e capaci di sterminare il brutto e cattivone incoronato) e la sua sicurezza.

Tutto molto bello e promettente. È una speranza, ma attenzione a non spacciarla per soluzione. Non di certo immediata né tantomeno sicura.

Vediamo insieme il perché: questa prima fase ne precede altre 3. In breve, sono 4 le fasi totali e necessarie per lo sviluppo di un vaccino.

Somministrazione: alcune decine di pazienti. Scopo: reattogenicità (capacità di indurre eventi avversi) ed immunogenicità a vari dosaggi

Somm.: centinaia. Scopo: reattogenicità e immunogenicità nella popolazione bersaglio

Somm.: centinaia/ decine di migliaia. Scopo: efficacia e reattogenicità (compresa di eventi rari)

Somm.: milioni. Scopo: eventi avversi rari a lungo termine, o nei gruppi a rischio.

Questo processo rappresenta lo strumento più solido del metodo scientifico per dimostrare l’efficacia e la sicurezza di un farmaco (o vaccino).
