i dont know how much lore ive dropped for Kieran and Topias here publicly buttttt kieran is human, & a knight that protects both sides (vampire and human) (totally neutral) and like that one really old law from world war II (?) in exchange for the protection, when a knight is injured or needs home and board they can pull up to a civilian house and receive medical attention/assistance/whatever and in this situation kiernan unknowingly goes to the most powerful and dangerous vampyre family mid battle. Topias answers the door and lets him in, and basically in this vampire ridden planet vampires receive government issued like bl🦦🦦d bags to sustain themselves but its not enough to grow stronger and rank higher like power wise. Topias is like self concious of being only half genetically vampiric, his father being full and his mother being human (but later turned) so he waits for his first victim to feast on and basically seduces/manipulates kieran into thinking hes in love with him. that night he pierces him to get a taste of his blood, (lip and eyebrow) and invites him to stay the night. He goes to feed but cannot, feeling remorse for basically having intentions to e 💥 d him, so he bites him barely enough to turn him (kieran) which he has a horrible reaction to and gets sick from. Topias plays it off in the morning and kieran does not know hes being turned. Kieran continues to pursue topias, as his health deteriorates. eventually topias dumps him, kieran continues to be infatuated with him and while basically just continues to be around him in any way (goes to the bar the night he plays the organ, distantly serves around his house, etc) and on nights hes at the bar he gets black out drunk nearly everynight and the bartender, bride, has to drag him outside half the time when the bar closes. Bride has feelings for kieran and is a vampire, his bar is like vampire human co-ed making it pretty desolate. only one waitress works there and thats it. Kieran starts to genuinely turn, and starves to the point of blacking out and f easting on someone pretty much unknowingly (aftermath shown here), time passes and he basically half sicks and starves to d 🧠 ath, going to topias’ one last time with three things, a letter, a decorated wooden stake and a carton of cigarettes. he passes in topias’ home and when he finds the stake he believes that kieran came to end him when in reality he was going to e 👅 d himself. Topias basically devours him then finds the note, feels remorseful and empty to the point of wanting to do what kieran originally planned. he loads kieran on top of him into his coffin, lies there and takes the stake to the heart willingly. (important here is that kieran is heavily religious, addicted to plastic surgery and mostly celibate)
