Top 10 meme
Itâs been a while since I really sat down to gif a bunch, so I thought Iâd do a massive top 10 meme, inspired by the one @clarkesbell is currently doing (make sure to check it out here!)Â
I will be doing a top 10 dynamics (or top 5) of every show I have downloaded and have finished the latest season of. Below you will find links to polls of all those shows, so you can pick and choose the ones you watch and want to vote for. You can vote for as many as you want, once every day.
I included all the dynamics I could think of: romantic, platonic and familial. Obviously Iâm a human so I mightâve forgotten some, in that case, you can send me an ask here or add your own answer to the poll.Â
Happy voting!Â

Top 10 Movies
Hello fellow internet citizens. I'm Dustin. Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday. I'll be listing my favorite 10 things from a certain category each week. This week is top 10 movies. These are in no particular order, that would have been too tough so pay no mind to the numbering.
2001: A Space Odyssey. Released a year before we put a man on the moon. Coming out before Star Wars. This movie defined science fiction films. I'm not saying there weren't other sci-fi movies before this, just not on this scale. It's Kubrick at his finest. Slow, methodical and difficult to understand. We are still arguing what parts of it mean and what it overall represents. It isn't a film I watch often because it is so complex, when I do I greatly enjoy it and get something new out of it.
Fight Club. The first rule is; you don't talk about Fight Club. So I'm going to break that rule. This movie came out at that transitional time between high school and college. At the time of release, I viewed it as a man defining himself which fit my personal narrative. Â Later I viewed it closer to its intent of a movie about a man dealing with his mental illness. Â Now I view it as all of that and more. Â Yes, as I have matured it seems more problematic and less poignant. Â I still enjoy it despite its flaws.
Shaun of the Dead- A romantic comedy zombie movie. Â A buddy film with two actual friends, zombies, and pints? Â Prior to seeing Shaun, I had not seen Spaced, so this caught me off guard. Â It is a mixture of great comedy, a sweet love story, and of course the undead. Â The opening bit of comparing the streets around their flat before and after the outbreak is genius. Â As is the fence scene. Â It doesnât only rely on comedy, however having the incredibly sweet and sad scene involving Shaunâs mom. Â Ending it the way they did was perfect too. Â I have and could watch this movie so many times. Â The fact that they lay out the entire plot in the first scenes is great too.
Moulin Rouge-The first romantic comedy I can recall seeing with my wife. Â It tells you in the beginning what happens later, and yet when it does happen, youâre incredibly sad. Â A musical without seeming forced, to me. Â Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman play off each other so well. Â The use of modern music in this era makes the movie all the more enjoyable to me. Â To this day the main song, âCome What Mayâ, still plays a role in my relationship with my wife. Â We had seen some hard times then and made it through more since then. Â A true love is meant to flourish come what may.
The Prestige- Directed by my favorite director, alive, and involving magic and Nikolai Tesla this movie, still managed to surprise me. Â A movie about sacrifice and the willingness to succeed despite the costs, this movie is intense while still slowly unraveling its tale. Â Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale play great adversaries to each other. Â Michael Caine gives the film gravity and David Bowie plays Tesla perfectly as he himself was enigma. Â This movie is in itself magical slowly weaving you through the steps of magic trick. Â The final reveal is incredible and solidifying the truth about both magicians and the steps they go to one up the other is powerful. Â
Forrest Gump- So this movie is on my list for two reasons. Â The first being Tom Hanks, he is one of my favorite actors and portrays the role of Forrest so well. Â The second reason is the film is just amazing. Â Covering the first half of Forrestâs life and the adventures he had is marvelous. Â From learning to run in his braces, to Vietnam, home and his cross country odyssey to finally return to Jenny. Â Robin Wright portrays Jenny perfectly, showing how broken her early life made this woman and the consequences of some of her choices. Â Robert Zemekis used news footage and CGI greatly here. Â Mixing Forrest into Americaâs quilt. Â Showing how one man come meet so many wonderful and complex people through their life, should apply to us all.
Ferris Buellerâs Day Off- This is every kids fantasy. Â Fake being sick, run-off to the city for the day with your best friend and girlfriend. Â Drive an amazing car, be in a parade. Â All with no consequences? Â Not to mention your uppity sister gets in trouble and your principal is taken down by your family dog? Â This is John Hughes at his best. Â The comedy mixes so well in with Cameronâs paranoia. Â Add to the fact that there is a theory that Ferris doesnât actually exist and is a figment of Cameronâs imagination? Â While not true the fact that it does actually work, is incredible. Â Everything about this movie is great.
Django Unchained-Let me clarify this is a favorites list and not a greatest list. Â I think Tarantino has better films, not much better, but better. Â This however is my favorite. Â Taking racism and blasting it away spaghetti western style. Â The music is phenomenal and this is my favorite soundtrack for a Tarantino movie. Â Every turn is done so well. Â Jamie Foxx plays the overwhelming underdog to Leonardo DiCaprioâs skeevy Candy. Â Outgunned and almost outsmarted Django takes on this slave owner in such a great way. Â First sneaking onto the property as a slave owner himself and using Candyâs obsession with African Americans wrestling one another to his advantage. Â When it seems as though the fight is lost for Django he turns the tables and takes out the entire plantation shot by shot. Â Bloody, curse laden and kitschy this mixes all the frantic nature of a spaghetti western with a great revenge plot. Â It is a modern day epic and deserves to be seen.
Anchorman- This movie is ridiculous in all the best ways possible. Â Every scene has multiple laughs. If you have the DVD the cast commentary is hilarious. Whenever I need a good laugh this is my go to movie. The sequel isn't as good but that is ok. The fight scene between local stations along with the downfall of Ron are my favorite scenes.
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. The rest of this list is not in order. This is my favorite movie of all time. The conclusion of The Lord of the Rings epic trilogy. Wrapping up all the loose ends of the story. Every oneâs performances are spectacular in it. The mix of practical and digital special effects is done masterfully. I cried so much towards the end. Seeing Arwen defeat, the Witch King, Sam save Frodo, and the departure to the Grey Havens was magical.
Well there is my list. I'd like to hear your top 10 so comment below. Have ideas for top 10s you'd like to see let me know.
