This week I would like to discuss what I think are the top 10 commandments of the African leader
Corrupted, I willl not be
A servant's heart, I will have and Compassionate, I will be
Patriotic and Panafricanist , I will be
The strenghts of my compatriots I will explore
Open minded and receptive to other ideas, I will be
Innovative and Creative, I will be
A simple lifestyle I will have
Confident I will be
With a good team I will be surrounded
By the example, I will lead
I believe that these are the attributes that a true African leader should have and I believe that leaders such as Sankara, Nkruma, Lumumba all shared these attributes. The true african leader needs to be an excellent communicator, have good values , and value team work. Unfortunately , most of African leaders are corrupted, selfish, narrow minded, unpatriotic, and suffer from nepotism and megalomania. This simply does not help the continent - which I do realize has its own challenges apart from leadership issues- move forward.
