The crowd went crazy when she came on😍

Tobin was angry. Everyone noticed. It was a sharp anger if you ask me but it also seemed deep, focused, unstoppable. When things were normal, after scoring a goal with Portland or USWNT, she always looked really passionate and happy but also somehow emotionally in control, but here in Manchester she's different. Things are not normal anymore, she made sacrifices, she left people behind, she has been left behind and betrayed, she has been deprived of doing what she loves most for months, some people just stopped believing in her. The first goal she scored in WSL against West Ham was angry but it was a liberation anger, it was a "going back to the source" - to say it as re-inc would say - goal, it was a new start. But this goal vs City, this one was something else. She was pressing Bronze with fire in her eyes, she was so focused and asphyxiating I don't wonder why Bronze made that mistake, and when she got the ball, Christen just got out of her way, she didn't even try to suggest a pass, I think she knew THAT anger and she knew how Tobin was going to free it. That angry shot was for being under 2 goals, it was for all the doubts surrounding her, it was maybe for missing her brother's wedding, it was for the club she called home for 7 years that just gave up on her when she put her own safety first, it was for herself, embracing every challenge and every uncomfortable situation just to overcome everything stronger than ever. Tobin Heath is the kind of player who shows her best under pressure, who becomes stronger when hurt, who takes the lead when her team is facing hard times. But most of all, Tobin Heath is the player who makes her heart beat under the badge of her jersey, she's loyal, she feels her team as a tribe and she would do anything to defend it and to bring it to success, or she would rather fall trying. By any other name ... Unless that name is Tobin Heath.
