I like to think Bular isn't a direct copy of Gunmar. Instead, Bular has a different mane color from Gunmar. It could range from red to grey to even blue, but personally I think his mane is white and Bular stains his mane to look more like his father and appease him.

I noticed something funny, when looking at Gunmar I realized that the scar on his face Orlagk gave him glows, and Gunmar's horns also have glow spots that seem more like gashes.
I wonder if those marks are from Bular possibly teething as a whelp? They seem centered around Gun's head, I'm imagining baby Bular perched in his sire's mane just gnawing the crap outta his dad's crest.
Gunmar carried Bular around in his mane, yes.
But he also carried Bular around on his tail like a pangolin.
Gunmar stomps by and there's this tiny lil freak of a whelp wrapped around the base of his tail sleeping peacefully.
I think what really is funny is that in the wiki Bular is listed as Gunmar's only son.
This implies that the likely dozens of other offspring Gunmar produced and survived were all not male. He's the exact kinda troll you would expect would want a lot of sons, but he only got one.
This is both funny and sad.
Funny because Gunmar got to have a ton of daughters.
Sad because its likely he got rid of all of them, and the pressure Bular must be under to live up to his father of all trolls.
I'm surprised Bular's mane hasn't already gone white from stress.
