Honestly in the same way people should just say they don't like them because they don't like them lest they look for a justification that ends up objectively wrong or grossly mischaracterizes the work.
People should just say they like something because they like it instead of trying to conform it to their own politics lest they downplay some form of bigotry.
Like just say you like it, offer no apologies, and then let's all just assume the best of each other
#in most cases I'd consider something being bigoted or made by a shitty person#to be#you know separate from a question of quality#because if you do that then people start thinking 'well this thing is good so the author can't be bad'#the cases where that is inseparable is like such a large edge case that I don't think it's worth basing your media consumption habits on it
