This Night Is Sparkling || Duncan&Kaley
Duncan was never fond of Berwick’s annual Farmer’s Market festival, but he was always there because it wasn’t like there was anything better to do. Every place in town was closed down and all the streets were blocked off. There was literally no way out. He couldn’t even go for one of his long, quiet walks because all six of Berwick’s sidewalks were buzzing with traffic. So there he was, standing at one of the game booths with his shoulders slumped, one hand full of wooden rings and the other aiming for the tallest wooden peg.
It was his third try. Like the other two, his ring flew right past the pegs and disappeared into the night, propelled undoubtedly by his miscalculated vampire strength. “Fuck.” he muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes at the dirty look he got from the booth attendant. Duncan decided right then and there that he may as well leave. Fuck his seven remaining tries. He didn’t even know if Kaley still liked him, let alone if she wanted him giving her stupid stuffed animal presents. Seemingly, as if she’d known that he was thinking about her, the petite brunette emerged from the throbbing crowd. Duncan gave her a short nod in greeting and turned to toss another ring -- and miss.
