I’m just trying to figure out what is s4b main arc is. Like, where does this arc lead to, patterns and stuff. We only know three-ish episodes so far out of 13. So far I’m thinking Danny and Mindy date other people to learn what they really want and change and grow, etc. My main theory..is that Mindy dates like Bryant and learns she’s not ready to date like Bryant is or learning that single-mom dating is hard and she have to be careful too. Just little things throughout the s4b. Same with Danny. I don’t know how they interact again and go “wow we both changed and are on the same page now. Let’s get married.”

This season is angsty and angsty stuff makes the fandom go crazy! We don’t know how s4 will end and so you can be negative/troll the fandom and stress out or ...step back and wait for facts and while being positive. Waiting is hard.

 So, I think what they’re doing with Danny and the couple, is doing this ‘full circle arc’ (or, I guess, can be called redemption arc) and they come back stronger than from the beginning (4x01). Right now, we’re seeing Danny at the 180 degree arc(half circle) and he’s at his worst or that is him and Danny and Mindy are very at odds. Things they disagree with caught up to them after they had Leo. So, during this ‘full circle arc’, is that we’re supposed to see them at their worst and struggling. And, I believe it’s not bad writing way...but to see them working on their problems and then changing and growing. It sucks a lot to watch this ...but we have to WAIT. This is still an arc and it’s not done. S4 is not done! If you can’t handle watching this angsty arc of s4B, then perhaps watch the finale and read spoilers only (wait till s5) and then decide if it’s worth it to keep watching.

 I’ve seen this arc a lot lately this year and and in the end of the season, our fave characters are where we want them to be at. (Carol, Bellamy, Danny?) I think to criticize on this full circle arc (whatever it is) is that ..Is this still interesting to watch? is it too far gone OOC for the character? Do the writers still respect the characters still? I understand the fear of bad writing and writers dead-stop ignoring our faves and treating them bad. We don’t want to be hurt in the end. It depends on the fan. So, to me, the show isn’t going downhill yet. I still have faith in the writers, so far.

However this Jody thing is kinda putting The Mindy Project down. I don’t know what they’re doing with Jody. If I think what they’re doing is some love triangle and in the end it’s Danny and Mindy being endgame. I find that s4b not interesting to watch. I also found it really dumb idea to be the thing to challenge Mindy or something. He’s like the extreme version of Danny..dick-Danny. I can’t see him be able to want to be with Mindy and in long term. It kind of hurts the Danny and Mindy relationship’s dynamic on the show. If Mindy is able to get Jody to like her and change for her, why can’t Danny do that when Danny is her main leading man, endgame. And it seems like bigger dynamic /challenge thing (and in short time-less than a season), between Jody and Mindy, if they’re dating and being happy. Like it leaves Danny to be less interesting or something to me. idk.  Also, I really don’t like that since Jody is her co-worker and he’s like one of the main minor-characters on the show. 

It’s just seems so dumb to start this Jody and Mindy thing. Maybe Jody would only be in s4 and he’s meant to challenge Mindy and Danny? Anyway, this pattern I thought of um... Jody is like Danny ..Jody is going through the same route that Danny did on falling in love with Mindy, in s1-2, but it’s different ..and Jody failing it(because Danny and Mindy are endgame). There seems to be parallels between them (even in s4A) and I don’t know what for in this s4b story. idk.. maybe it’s too early to think of anything yet and maybe it’s all one-sided and Mindy doesn’t want to be with him. Maybe, the Jody and Mindy thing is only like 5 episodes and really subtle-like, and it’s something to learn more about Jody, grow to like him, and make him a fuller character. 

I hope in s4B is Danny and Mindy on a break, living separately, and having couple therapy. I also hope for Danny overcoming his fears. Well, I hope the writers explain more why he’s acting more of a jerk than usual in s4A. (S4A we don’t have a lot of his point of view from him and he wasn’t in S4A much.) I think it’s all coming from his fears. Like, his main fears of who he is. Like, the fears or problems he had since we learned from the Pilot episode. Alan-Christina fears.

Alan-Christina fears... Father - Wife fears. Sounds like what s4 theme is about from Danny. In s4, Danny proposed to Mindy to be his wife and he also became a new dad.

Lately I’m thinking his big fears are mostly from Alan (or s4A was about fatherhood/Alan and so we know more already). Danny went to CA to look after his sick dad. He probably thought a lot of his childhood. Stressful during those times, he’s worried and he wants what is best for Leo. He’s all paranoid. I also think Danny wants to be better than Alan. As in be the working-dad while Mindy can do, what Annette always wanted to do, was to be a stay-at-home mom. (This was my theory on why he scoffed at Mindy for asking him to be a stay-at-home dad in 4x11.)  IDK how to explain it..but like this idea Danny had of a perfect family, he wants to be better than his dad. So, if Mindy says she wants to keep working. His idea won’t work and so it’s like he’s not better than his dad or that he might be just like his dad. He’s also probably scared of the idea of Leo’s parents both working. Will Leo feel alone like Danny did in his childhood? But Danny doesn’t get it or believe that this new different family lifestyle Leo can have, may be good thing. Leo have his grandma to babysit him and Mindy and Danny’s relationship is good as long as they work on it.

TMP writers mentioned they want to have Christina to return in s4B.  I keep thinking how does this Christina-arc would help Mindy and Danny and Danny overcoming his fears. (I don’t think the Christina-fear is something to be really focused on than with Alan-fear. I guess I want more Alan/daddy isses solved more.Or maybe just seeing her in s4B is more exciting to watch.) Maybe Mindy will learn how to work her relationship with Danny better by not doing the same things Christina did. I also wondered about Christina and her career. Did Danny encouraged her to follow her dreams to work in this competitive job or a job that she have to travel a lot. So, when she’s always busy and not always with Danny, and then cheated on him, it made Danny worried that Mindy wants to be a working-mom with 2 jobs? I’m just guessing. I’m kind of thinking of ep. Fertility Bites, when he’s happy Mindy will move in with him because that means he will see her more.

My speculations of S4B kind of seems like a big changing arc for Danny that the show will do. Maybe the writers will want to do it, because they want the character to be ready when they get married. Like season 5 (if we get one) is another season where the show changes again. ~Danny and Mindy as a married couple.~

I may be wrong about the fear thing, but I hope, whatever the writers will do, there’s a good reason why Danny is so stubborn on his ideals, not compromising, and not listening to Mindy. And, I hope Danny and Mindy find their way back together.
