They just missed so many opportunities to make her more of her own character. In season 1, April does a bunch of investigation and even undercover work for the turtles, hinting at her usual journalist characterisation, only for the later seasons to just…like completely ignore it??? They gave her no hobbies, no personal interests which is such a shame considering she was a teen girl in the early 2010s meaning the possibilities are ENDLESS.

In my heart she’s a hunger games tumblr book nerd with a secret 1D obsession. Also into journalism and even writing stories.

I don’t even wanna address the love triangle lol that’s a mess on its own 😭 What makes me sad is that we see over and over again how Donnie and April CAN WORK and CAN have their moments…but then for every step forward the writers took with them they took 10 steps back, with their dynamic being the exact same the next ep. tysm to @nerdy-turtle-enthusiast for their fixing apriltello works that I absolutely love

God this fandom has such a problem with favoritism it’s insane.

The movie is fucking amazing and beautifully animated!

The show is fucking amazing, beautifully animated and has the most realistic teenage dialogue I’ve heard out of any TMNT.

Like seriously the chemistry the actors have together has taken TOTTMNT to a whole new level of fun and dynamic character interactions that is rarely seen. Not only do they feel like siblings but they feel like friends.

They are fleshed out and have had their own story arcs. The show is funny and has a balance of goofy and angsty. The boys have a healthy, emotional dynamic with eachother, while also having their individual flaws. The stories are so unique and the way the show flows is very well done.

And now it’s canceled, just like ROTTMNT. Mutant mayhem had an incredibly beautiful animated show with only 2 seasons that had so much story left to show.

So.. where’s the love, where’s the petitions, where’s the outrage, where’s the anger and determination.

You say rise got forgotten, there are less than 500 fics on AO3 for Tottmnt. Excluding t-cest, there’s more like 200.

WAKE THE FUCK UP AND SHOW SUPPORT FOR THIS INCREDIBLE SHOW.

You say you care so much about canceled Tmnt and bringing it back, but do nothing for TOTTMNT.

I’m sorry about ROTTMNT, I truly am. But it’s been 3 years, letting go is sometimes kinder than false hope.

You want to fight for something that has a better chance, fight for TOTTMNT. A recent cancellation, still fresh, still raw. This is what needs to be fought for, if this Tmnt lives on then the world expands, characters are brought back, another crossover movie could happen.

TOTTMNT STILL HAS A STORY TO TELL!

These boys barely got their time, they deserve better. They deserve what RISE never got, a second chance.

This is a cycle that the tmnt fandom has fallen into.

Like how Tmnt has slowly been changing Leo and raphs argumentative relationship throughout the iterations,

TMNT 2003 Is the Best Version

I don't care if people don't agree, it's my opinion, but as a huge fan who has watched (almost) every single iteration of these no longer teens, teenage adventures! Saturday mornings I would watch the original 1987 series on teletoon retro, then switch to whichever channel was showing the 2003 version.

In my opinion, the 2003 TMNT series had a lot of cool concepts and really focused on each of the brothers individual growth. I'm not usually a fan of Leo (I like him but not as much as other characters) but I liked Leo this series. The fact each turtle had a different mode of transportation was also a cool detail. Mikey used a skateboard, classic, while Raph- rollerblades, which fits him well because of his sais, he has to get up close and personal to fight which can be done easier on blades over a skateboard. Donnie used a bicycle, which again, fits him. A bike is timeless, dependable, and one of the easier things to use which lets Don focus on his inventions. Finally, Leo has a scooter. I don't have much to say about that since it seems more like a "what other thing can we give him?" And I personally can't think of anything either.

I also loved the fact that each turtle was a different shade of green, and how they found a way for shredder to keep coming back as a threat was cool too, on top of the fact that Shredder was more organized crime than ninja rival since he had the purple dragons under his thumb and hired Baxtor Stockman.

It was definitely darker than the original cartoon, (not the comics) but done in a way that was still appropriate for kids at the time. To this day I'll still randomly sit down and watch the series start to finish. Unfortunately, it makes some of the newer version seem less appealing. Like the 2012 version. I liked the first season and some of the second, but it felt like it was trying to use what the 2003 one did to be successful instead of coming up with new ideas after season two. The character designs were cool for some of the new mutants but it just wasn't right for me.

The Rise of (2019 version) cartoon was fun and explored different dynamics. It wasn't meant to be taken as seriously since I compared it to Teen Titans go, so it doesn't feel fair to compare that one.

Mutant Mayhem (2023 movie) reminded me of what I enjoyed about the 2003 (some things definitely bugged me but it was still a good movie!). This is because it took a different approach that was still possible within the universe and explored new dynamics again.

Another thing that came from the 2003 version was the 2007 movie, at least, it feels like it was heavily inspired by the dynamics and story within it while also acting as a continuation for the original live action movies (1990s) it also ended up with a Game Cube version of the game (my brother and I played it so much we could get through it without ever being hit by an enemy!) and if the 2007 doesn't count to some, I don't think we can forget about the Turtles Forever Movie. As someone who watched and liked the 1987 turtles, they definitely didn't do them justice in my opinion, but they were fun and added a funny dynamic between how people view cartoons from the 80s and cartoons from the 2000s.

I probably have more to say, but that's all I have for now! I will definitely be posting more TMNT content because they have been my favourites since I was little and still are to this day!

And don’t get me started on Leo X Koya. Leo can only handle so much of Raph and his attitude what makes you think he would like to be with someone as rough and temperamental as Koya. Who, realistically, is much more angrier and violent than Raph!

okay, first one!!

3. Is there something about your character’s appearance they would change if possible? (Leo, Mikey)

I'm gonna start with Mikey since I haven't thought very much about Leo :P

mikey is a little self conscious of his stripes, he wouldn't get rid of them (maybe), but if he could he'd change the ones on his legs.

I made some art to illustrate my point since I realized I've never drawn Mikey in clothes (or lack there of) that show off all his stripes!!

he's doing a hand stand because I can't draw characters standing normally for the life of me, not super proud of the posing tho. (plus he likes doing gymnastics while also tying in some elements of ballet from Leo :] )

if you compare the ones on his legs to his face and shoulders you'll see the lines are a lot more "wobbly" he's a little self conscious of that but he can survive. what he would change for sure is his wacky knee. his left knee was injured pretty badly when he was younger and if he would want to fix his knee since it's a little weaker than his right knee, not by a whole lot but enough to get annoyed by.

as for Leo, he's shy and generally self conscious but he wouldn't actually change anything about himself......... except for one thing: the tattoos..............

Casey has always been a bit of a bad influence, so when he was 13 (Leo 12, raph 11, Donnie 13) and he found out about stick and poke tattoos he very quickly told raph and Donnie, both curious and thinking it was cool, but not wanting to be the first subject, but Leo was okay with it after some convincing.

but once Casey decided he wanted to try getting a tattoo after "practicing" with Leo he very quickly realized that tattoos hurt, especially if you let Donnie do it.

Casey now has a little dot on his back and Leo now has a little lighting bolt tattoo on his shoulder near the edge of his shell and a smiley face between his shoulder and his bicep.

Leo's tattoo's are normally hidden under his shirt and splinter still has yet to find out about these tattoo's :) but yeah, Leo would get rid of his tattoos and Mikey would make his stripes more appealing and uniform.

5. character’s opinion on scars (Raph)

since my last one was a little rant-y I'll try to answer shortly!! but I'm a rant-y mood :P

for a long while raph didn't have much contact with scars, major scars at least, for a little while when he was younger he didn't fully process the fact the scars were from injuries, he thought of scars in a similar manner to birth marks.

but then he bit Mikey a little too hard and messed up Mikeys knee. after that he began to associate scars with injuries a lot more closely, not only that but he associated scars with his own failings.

casey shook that idea a little bit with his many scars while he's like "-and this one? I got it on a hike, nearly cracked my head open...." while acting like it's the coolest thing ever.

what really got raph to fully understand that scars are fine is the end of arc 1. Donnie get's pretty beat up, and raph learned to like scars after finding that he much preferred seeing donnie's injuries become scars rather than continue to be infected and bleeding.

9. what does your character smell like? (April)

body odor. and after she meets the turtles body odor and sewer water.

her BO isn't the most noticeable, especially compared to the turtles and Casey but her dominant scent is body odor with probably some scent of whatever she ate that day, sometimes you could catch a hint of vanilla from her deodorant but you get the gist of it.

11. is your character’s favorite color a color they were often? (Casey)

yes! his favorite color is green! all he wears is green. except after arc 2 and 3 he branches out a bit due to lore reasons ( >:D )

uhhhhh I'm not sure, I feel like it suits him pretty well, especially documenting his growth over the arcs! I'm not sure what else I can say without too many spoilers :P

not just a pointless adventure that dont do shit to the lore like with usagi or sum- im talking like- we get to see what the turtles' day to day life is like, what they do when they arent on missions, how they coped, greived and lived after the canon was over and they had nothing to do- we kinda had that in the beebop and rocksteady special- but it was short lived-

I ask this because if I'm not mistaken, Splinter and Shredder's beef was because both wanted to be inside of a woman and that led to the most petty ass fight imaginable. Meanwhile the only time Raph and Leo ever fought over a girl was Raph telling Leo to fuck off from Karai, not because he was simping for her but because he genuinely didn't trust her and believed she was a horrible person. And Leo never also told Raph that him being attracted to Mona was weird because he wanted her but because he just found it weird.
