I find it so odd and petty that the really stuck up TMNT fans who says that 87 is the "real" one easily say that version is the true version of the turtles
cause apparently Raphael wasn't always the hot head and was pretty insightful about certain things and has a major backbone to be standing up to Leonardo when things get crazy (idk exactly how it goes bc haven't watched it fully honestly (but it's what people say)) and that sometimes he even acts like Donnie once in a while when push comes to shove(?) (and people say Rise is ooc 🤨)
main thing is that if people really want to get technical the true characteristics of the turtles it starts with black and white pictures to which are inked and is in volumes that is where the true ones actually comes from
and honestly the ones who come close to that would be the 90s movies just saying

Whenever I see someone use like, the nineties(?) version of the turtles for any reason, my brain kinda buffers into "Ah yes, the marketing" before I remember it was a real show
