Just realised that it's kinda screwed up that 2012 Karai was mutated into a snake when her bio father (Splinter) is a rat cause snakes eat rats in the wild 👁👁
TMNT Splinters: Ways To Die
MM Splinter: There are some pretty tragically ridiculous ways to die.
Rise Splinter: Oh, like that guy? That scuba diver they found when they put out the bush fire?
2003 Splinter: I'm sorry, what?
Rise Splinter: They put out a bush fire and they found a dead guy in full scuba gear. After a bit of investigating, they figured out that the water helicopter that was used to put out the fire accidently picked him up and dumped him into the flames.
2012 Splinter: sore wa hontōni hisanna shini katada.
1987 Splinter: It's pretty much the exact opposite of dying peacefully in one's sleep.
2003 Splinter: Falling into a blazing flame with a gas tank instead of a parachute. I can only hope his death was quick and painless.
2012 Splinter: What do you say to his family?
2003 Splinter: At least he died doing what he loved.
Rise Splinter: Well, he was a firefighter who loved scuba and sky diving but I don't think he ever wanted to combine the three.
Splinter: Seek victory, not fairness.
Splinter: So, have some glocks-

I'm usually very open on ppl having their personal complains on 2012 Splinter but something i cannot just let pass is when ppl says he always remained out of the battles when his sons were in danger because he was a bad father.
Like guys idk how to explain this but Splinter in this version was deeply traumatized with the loss of his humanity and he was pretty old.
There's a reason why in 'Me, monster' the episode points out on how his students have started to surpass him in fight and why in later seasons he felt weaker, he was reaching an age where he couldn't do much and dying would mean that his kids would be alone.
This isn't a headcanon, it's something the show implied multiples times. I've even see people joking on how he died the few times he join a big battle and yes, that's the whole point. He wouldn't win, the risk is too much and he would only take it if necessary.
He was very strict, sometimes didn't gave the best advices and put too much on Leo but something like him not being always there was for more personal reasons than simply 'not caring enough'
TMNT 2012 was such a dark cartoon despite the humour and cheesy moments.
What happened to the present-day turtles who went to space? I mean...their father died while they were off planet. Splinter accepted his sons ditching him for space and accepted these AU sons as their replacements??? Are these kids going to come home and realise they've been replaced?
Time travel is such a mess.
About Leo and Splinter!
Do you think Splinter loves Leo the most, and is he his father's favorite? While he shows simple care for the others. What do you think about this?
Oh!
Now this is a good question.
I'd have to say that while Splinter and Leo had the closest relationship seen on screen, that doesn't specifically mean that Leo’s the favourite child or that he's loved the most.
Splinter very clearly loves all his boys equally, he simply gives them different attention. That's not to say that he's neglectful of any of them, he just doesn't treat them the same.
He wouldn't give Mikey a lesson or advice the way he would Leo because Mikey learns differently.
(S2E8 S2E10)
He wouldn't connect emotionally to Leo the way he does with Raph because Leo doesn't need it.
(S1E15 S1E2)
He wouldn't give blunt answers to Raph the way Donnie would need them because Raph would take it the wrong way and feel attacked.
(S4E17 S2E4)
And he wouldn't leave Donnie alone to deal with hard feelings or choices like Mikey because Mikey does things on a whim and doesn't need help to decide while Donnie does.
(S1E12 S2E16)
The turtles are all different. In any family, all children will not be the same and will require different treatment from their parent. And that's just what we see Splinter doing. And it doesn't take away from all the affection we see him give to them all at the same time.
Does Splinter have a favourite child?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: nooooooooooooooooooo.
(I didn't mention Karai/Miwa because she unfortunately didn't spend enough time with Splinter and the turtles to be properly raised.)
