If you haven’t guessed I freaking LOVE tma. Have a totally unnecessary post of photos from my tma lorebook that I’ve been working on for the last few months. It’s nowhere near finished but the plan is it will contain lots of canon lore about the series, as well as my own hcs, meta and notes/theories. I’m not a natural artist or crafter so it’s very uninspiring but I’m feeling proud of it today so I wanted to share and as this is my blog I can do what I want and subject you guys to awful pictures of my crappy book.

Ooh do Montgomery for the fear entities
Montgomery is so frustrating for this because he resists cosmic horror. It’s frightening. His concerns are very mundane, and he’ll leave the super-evil super-powered Entities to the others, thanks; he’d just like to build things.

Montgomery von Calliston Radcliffe Affinity: The Extinction Weakness: The Vast
I feel like this one needs a little explanation, so-- I associate Montgomery with the Extinction specifically because of his position in society. He is a magic-less noble raised in a magic meritocracy, and yet he is poised to become the greatest hero their land has ever known (alongside one of his friends who was also born there). For these people, Montgomery represents the utter collapse of their worldview and champions the idea that their world will go on with or without them. He has not just utilized cutting-edge technology to do it but also invented new forms of destruction using technology so sophisticated that it might someday outpace the use of magic in his homeland. He is devoted to progress, and he’s arrogant enough to believe himself capable of avoiding the mistakes all scientists make in their shortsighted drive for success.
His weakness is the Vast purely because (1) he lives on a floating island and (2) said island has been the target for consumption by some massive, unknowable eldritch horror demon that lives in the ocean far below. He’s also very afraid of everything in his life turning out to be insignificant, of damning those who come after him to suffer the same way he did because he was incapable of changing the world.
So it’s 7 am, I just got up and I apparently can’t read the word eye anymore without thinking tma. So yeah how’s your day going so far?
Just remembered that Monty Python “moving house” sketch intermission. Can’t seem to find it at the moment. Anyways, I was drawing a living meat structure when it dawned that the man-eating-house from Monty Python shares dark energy with The Magnus Archives universe. So arguably there could be a large oddly constructed Victorian era house loudly dragging it’s way through the countryside in the apocalypse sucking people into the distortion and being generally perturbing.
