I can't stop thinking of the scene in episode 6 when Essek discovers a potential cure for his mother, for fucking *TYPHROS*, a massive breakthrough in dunamancy, all by himself, and he has no one to celebrate with. Trent abandoned him to focus on his own selfish gains, and force Essek to take actions that will cause him to lose his mother and his best friend, as well as participate the deaths of thousands of innocent people.
And I can't wait to compare this to seeing him in a lab with Caleb.

I mean, look at him. Look at his eyes's shape, the pupils slightly slitted, his canine teeth a little sharp! I mean, a baby fang is still a fang. The ears are just slightly pointed!
He's got a predatory vibe, but not a big one, you know? Not a wolf, more fox/cat-like.
He went from clueless puppy to loyal military dog, then wild fox.
Generally, I would say a character went from puppy to wolf, but he doesn’t have any wolf vibe.
Wolves are generally strong, instinct- and family-driven, loyal, all for the pack, with some kind of power play to know who is the strongest, but foxes are known to be trickster. They are clever, curious, more independent, kinda selfish, cunning, built for speed, thinking about their actions, and avoiding direct conflict…
He is a character with trust issues who will make you doubt his actions, even involuntarily.

I love animals and when i like a charactere i will try to find similarities between the two.
