Where are my fellow conlang folks at? These days I'm really into toki pona but I honestly like conlangs and languages in general, mostly the linguistic/philological perspective.
OBSESSED with the ruStay scene!!! so the words for the ritual, SoS jIH batlh SoH, were actually set way back during tng which is why for the first time in academy the tlhIngan Hol isn't bang on.
SoS - mother, jIH - I/me, batlh - honour, SoH - you
i assume the intent of the ritual words is something along the lines of "I honour your mother" or "you honour my mother", but it's kind of a word salad when read like that. batlh is the noun form of honour, so to use the verb form (quv) and with proper klingon grammar it would look more like this:
SoSlI' vIquv, SoSwI' Daquv - I honour your mother, you honour my mother
that being said i adored the way everyone but jay'Den kind of butchered the pronounciations (karim diane was flawless as always). such a lovely scene!!!

Pytacie mnie w listach czy piosenka, którą śpiewa Una w SNW 4x03 jest poprawnie po klingońsku. Co prawda ja sobie oglądam SNW od początku i jestem gdzieś na końcu drugiego sezonu, ale nie mogłem się powstrzymać, żeby zerknąć o czym mowa.
Moja pierwsza odpowiedź: nie jestem tak dobry, aby to stwierdzić jednoznacznie.
Mój klingoński nie jest płynny, a słowa są wypluwane z dużą szybkością i akcentem, który jest... znośny. Umówmy się, że to nie jest dopieszczona klingońszczyzna z Discovery, chociaż Rebecca Romijn robi i tak fantastyczną robotę śpiewając.
Mieliście czasem tak, że słuchając np. arii operowej w języku polskim (np. ze Strasznego Dworu Moniuszki) ledwo rozpoznajecie poszczególne słowa, łapiąc ogólnie kontekst i różne losowe detale? Tutaj jest podobnie.
Powtarzająca się fraza "turn around" to prawdopodobnie {qaleHnISqa'} "potrzebuję abyś znów mnie zaszczycił(a) obecnością".
"Bright eyes" to {mInDu' wov}, to było akurat proste i dosłowne.
A total eclipse of the heart to: {tIqwIj naptop naQ wISIQ} "przeżywamy całkowite zaćmienie mojego serca"
Zdania rozpoznaję ze słuchu i widzę, że jeszcze nikt z poważnych klingonistów tego nie rozpisał dokładnie. Z czasem pojawią się lepsze analizy niż moja i będzie można się w pełni cieszyć klingońskim karaoke. 🎶
