let me tell you about miss independent

             - nalini dewan is the daughter of first generation indian immigrants and it sure wasn’t easy growing up. they moved here to find their soulmate, which was each other and had three daughters. nalini is the middle child.

            - not only was her family less than wealthy but nalini fit into the american society seamlessly. she had never known any different, but her parents wanted her to stay true to her heritage. it isn’t that she doesn’t appreciate her family’s background nor does she reject her religion, she just isn’t as dedicated to it was her parents are.

            - nalini had dreams much bigger than getting married and working being a housewife. she has no problem with people wanting to do that but it wasn’t her and the idea of marrying a man just made her stomach turn. 

            - her mother tried to match her with several good indian boys until she finally had enough and told her mother that she was gay - loudly. in a full supermarket. not the best decision she’s ever made. they’ve never talked about it again, but the matches have stopped since then.

            - she has always been a hard worker and has always loved to achieve. the rush a good grade gave her didn’t compare to anything in this world. she got a scholarship to go study law and after that, she became a junior lawyer at a law firm.

             - she has specialized in environmental and family law but her main business is defense. she loves her job and you can easily say that she’s addicted to it.

            - she has chosen to keep living here because she honestly doesn’t have the time to go out and date. she just hopes to find the woman that has a wolf tattoo and make it work - and if it’s not romantic then she’ll just have a great friend and be done with it. it seems efficient, though not very romantic. she generally just isn’t very romantic, but maybe actually falling for someone and finding her soulmate could change that for her?

Eliza, or Elle as she prefers to be called is the youngest child of Amelia Hyatt, who is an extremely famous actress. Her father, Jaxon was originally from Bulgaria and although wasn’t related to her brother, Jaxon treated him like his own son so they grew up as a happy family. Despite being mainly looked after nannies due to her mother’s acting taking her away from LA for months at a time and her father busy with law stuff. Despite this, she was very attached to her dad growing up. He is one of the huge reasons why she is the way she was since she had him wrapped around his finger since a child, being his only biological child.

Grew up being quite spoiled and stuck up- meaning she easily can rub people up the wrong way. She got attention from a young age from paparazzi due to her mother and revelled in the attention.

She was never really good in school tbh, it just never was something that interested her. Elle got average grades, never really trying but never really being the bottom. It was at a young age when she got her first ‘boyfriend’, a boy in the year above her in school. She went to a private boarding school in LA,

When she was ten, her parents got divorced which completely broke her. She’d never expected this to happen with her parents, expecting them to be together forever. Within time, it was found out that Jaxon had been cheating on Amelia for a few years and just a few months after, he got married to his former mistress, having some more children with her. Over time, he lost his interest with Elle, the two only seeing each other on occasions. Although she’d never mention it, it’s the reason she can seem quite closed off as the person she loved more than anyone else let her down completely. She doesn’t have much of a desire to get to know her new stepmother and siblings, rather acting like they don’t exist.

She really grew into her looks by the time she turned thirteen and decided she wanted to be a model to start off with. It was obvious that Elle was meant to be a star from a young age, she just revelled in the attention and worked it well. Her mother was happy that she’d decided to follow in a similar path, though her father wasn’t too impressed, wanting her to have a more ‘proper’ job.

After two years of developing her career, her agent managed to get her into a fashion show last minute, walking for Dior a few weeks after her sixteenth birthday. It kickstarted her career, leading to her now walking for different fashion weeks for different brands. Think Kaia Gerber aged sixteen and is sorta now where she is now mixed with Gigi.

A year into professional modelling, she decided to quit high school, spending her Senior Year being tutored whenever she didn’t have photoshoots. She graduated with a 3.8 GPA so not great but not too bad either.

When she was eighteen, she found out she was pregnant with her former boyfriend who was quite a bit older than her. It was far from her plan in the future, wanting to make it big in acting and modelling and it would’ve completely changed her plans. However, before she could really decide what she wanted to do, she had a miscarriage at fourteen weeks before she told anyone. She was more upset than she expected to be tbh but just decided to push it at the back of her thought

Eliza, more recently, has done a few more acting roles, along with all the work that modelling brings. She absolutely loves her life and doesn’t have any plans of changing the amount of work she does. From a plea by her mother, she agreed to come to the Island in an attempt to try and get her to settle down. She doesn’t quite believe in the whole soulmates thing and is more here to see how long it’ll take for her to hate it. She’s only been here for around a week!

So my lil sunshine Zayden is your resident dog walker (yes dog walker and he’s not ashamed) You’ll find him on the street with his bitches (get it? jk jk) and he’s also a perpetual mess. 

His father and mother were High school sweethearts that fell in love all too quickly. They got married and had Zayden and his sisters, it was all picture perfect. Zayden Admired his dad until one day it just wasn’t the same. His parents started to fight and he tried to shield his sisters from it, until one day he came home from school and his father was just gone. He left without a goodbye or a note and it’s always been a weight that Zayden carries with him. 

So after that he was left in a house full of women, two younger sisters and his mother. He grew up being the man of the house and taking care of his sisters because his mom was never around, having to work hard to keep the family afloat. But he never minded one bit because loves each and every one of them with all of his heart. 

Fast forward a couple of years and his mom makes a radical decision to move to Anteros island after seeing an ad, claiming she wants to find her true love. Of course he couldn’t let them go alone so he relocated with the rest of his family. That was when he was in Middle school

Zayden was quick to make friends here, always being a social butterfly. He quickly became one of the ‘cool kids’ in the school. 

High school is where he met his first love, Fay. She had always caught his eye but never plucked up the courage to actually go up and talk to her until one day he saw someone picking on her. He was quick to step in and take Fay’s side. They became friends and their romance blossomed from there. It definitely wasn’t your regular high school crush, he thought he had found the one. 

When they turned 18 they vowed not to show each other their mark, not wanting it to affect their relationship. Their relationship went on for a while until Fay slowly started to pull away. Although they never had a formal breakup Zayden knew it was over and he was heartbroken. 

Now, Zayden likes the idea of this island and the thought of there being someone out there that is his soulmate thrills him but he’s not really sure shes out there after the whole Fay incident it left him feeling kinda hopeless about love.

He is probably one of the friendliest guys you’ll meet and loves to crack some dad jokes.

Raine is the youngest of three children she was born into a wealthy family with a LOT high expectations.

Her family was one of the firsts on the island and her grandfather (was gonna say father but then I did the math and assuming that he was around forty at the time, he’d now be 97 soooo) actually went into business with the government when opening the island and helped with the construction of the island. They now own a string of shops throughout the island.

Most of her family is very proud to be a part of the Anteros legacy, Raine however is the complete opposite. When she was younger she used to dream about ways she could escape the island, but she knew they could never become a reality.

Her older brother Jasper is probably her best friend./ .He’s the only person she’s always known she can really on and truly be herself with. She confides in him and would do anything for him

She never really believes in the concepts of soulmates, she thinks the whole island is a bit of a sham for hopeless romantics and never really thinks she going to meet her soulmate.

That being said she is just about the biggest commitment-phobe you will ever meet!

She has only really been in one relationship in her life but it ended up a complete mess and her brokenhearted. ( WANTED CONNECTION PLS ) It was the only time she truly opened herself up and could see herself with someone and she ended up alone, again. so trust issues, ya know?

She is brash, sarcastic and doesn’t really care much about what people think about her.

She wants to study law to uncover the truth and help those whose voice has been diminished in the crowd.

She has the biggest soft spot for animals, but don’t call her out on it ok

&& EX BOYFRIEND — okay so get ready for some anGST. So picture this whirlwind romance that happened when they were both in high school. He was her first love and she was completely enamored with him (feelings don’t have to be reciprocated, maybe that was part of the problem???) But then it all came crashing down (was it something mutual? was it his fault? was it her fault? LETS FIND OUT) and as much as she tried to fix it all slipped though her fingers. Now when they see each other it’s all snide remarks and bringing up the past

&&FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS — not you’re usual fwb. probably considered another one of raine’s closest friend, but they also sleep together. they are probably one of the people on the planet that knows her best, but they also sleep together and show affection for one another, but completely platonically. they both care for each other deeply but they both know that it will never move onto a relationship.

&&CONFIDANT/BEST FRIEND — one of the very few people that she opens up to. probably has known her since she was younger (maybe middle school) and knows everything she has been through. one of the few people raine knows she can count on

so, parker is originally from norway. he was born there but was adopted into the united states at the age of three. he loosely speaks norwegian but for the main part, is ‘merican af.

his adoptive mother died from cancer when he was young and his dad sent cherry ( his sister ) off to live with her aunts while he was sent to to live with his biological mother, who moved here a while back.

she was very abusive and used to beat the shit out of him until he set the house on fire out of spite and in the midst, got caught in the flames and involuntarily sent himself and his mother to the hospital. he meant only to destroy their house, not their lives.

he was sent to juvie for arson but escaped actual jail time as he was a youth.

he has half his face scarred and usually wears a hoodie to hide his appearance.

hi guys !! my name is luca and i’m a loser from california. i’m not interesting in the slightest, so i’m gonna move right on into talking about miles

♡ he grew up in norway, and has lived there for most of his life, only coming to florida about two months ago. he came to the island to participate in the love club since he did a report on it as a kid and was always interested

♡ he has a very thick norwegian accent and says lots of words funny, so i’m sure your muse can laugh at him and he’ll only get mildly annoyed

♡ that being said, he does have a bit of a temper. his dad was emotionally abusive to him growing up, teaching miles that boys couldn’t be sensitive or feel “soft” emotions. this caused him to grow up and not be able to process emotions properly. like, he forces himself to get angry instead of being sad, and will get genuinely angry at himself if ever cries

♡ he’s a good guy at heart. he likes making other people smile and tends to act more stupid than he is to try to make them laugh. he can be a bit rude, just because he thinks it’s funny, but once he hurts someone’s feelings, he’ll suck it up and apologize 

♡ he’s a little shit tho and acts way too cocky

♡ he resents the fact that he’s gay, and tried his hardest not to act on it bc he knows his dad would be livid and he feels guilty and scared, so hopefully being paired with a man helps him work through this

hello again! im kenna(i also play warner and i think i wrote an intro about me there lmao) but if not, im 18, i just started college so ill be on and off a lot, and i am super excited for this rp! anyways, heres a little about eloise:

-she is known as the bohemian and fits it to a tee

-shes pretty unusal, always in her own world and can be caught doodling or writing or drawing constantly. she’s super artsy, very into the environment and animals. she’s a total vegan, an animal cruelty free advocate, and she just wants the world to be sustainable and liveable

-she grew up on the island, so she watched her parents meet and fall in love here so she totally believes in the process

-she has an older brother and two younger sisters-her brother didn’t join the program because he wanted to get off the island. he left when he was twenty and she hasnt seen him since which makes her really sad because they were close but she still has her sisters so she manages

-she had a loooot of friends during high school because she’s so outgoing and friendly and literally just wants to be friends with everyone so its really rare that she as enemies or that she dislikes someone

-shes a marine veterinarian so she takes care of sea animals. she chose that profession because she was always fascinated by the sea but she hated like marine biology and cared more about helping the animals than learning about kelp lol. i assume she would work at an aquarium if there is one on the island!

-shes just a cutie pie that wants the world to be a better place and wants everyone to be friends

hey yall im kenna and this is warner, my lil sheep as i like to call him. i don’t have a bio written for him yet but here are some bullet points about him:

-he was born off the island and is from Carson City, Nevada

-he is an only child and his parents were divorced when he turned ten; they fought all the time during his childhood leading up to the divorce and he never saw true love and their divorce made him really cynical about anything having to do with love

-he came to the island because he felt like it was the only way he would even get a shot at finding love and he wanted the free vacation

-he still doesn’t really believe in true love but part of him is hoping this experience will change that and he will fall in love

-because of his parent’s divorce and having to go back and forth from house to house, he can seem very closed off but that’s just his rbf- once you start talking to him, he’s a total softie who just wants to fit in because he never felt like he fit in in his family

-hes a follower, he’ll do like anything anyone asks because he wants to have friends and be liked deep down

-idk if any of you watch once upon a time, but imagine rumplestiltskin and thats basically warner

-he has his own little bubble that he likes to be in so he can come off as like unwilling to try new things but he just needs a little push and he’ll follow right along

-he’s really just a big teddy bear who wants friends and to be loved since he didn’t feel like he got that in his childhood
