short storytime from my dc dr
so basically it was a trial mission for the titans, and we had to "prove youโre not babies anymore" to the justice league. they grouped us in teams of four to see how well we worked together now that we were phasing out of the whole teen titans era and trying to be, you knowโฆ actual titans.
i was paired with donna, garfield(beast boy) and garth and we were sent to atlantis to check out a few disturbances near one of the outer gates, so before we dove into the water from the jet that took us there, i made an air bubble for donna then we all headed down together. barry allen (the flash) was in charge of our group's mission so he would pick up up when we were done.
halfway down, we started noticing these faint flickers in the distance kinda like small lights blinking constantly. at first we thought it was just some kind of underwater reflection, but obviously garth, who was an atlantean knew what they were.
so before he could say anything we're already swimming further down and yknow how sound doesn't travel well in water... so even when he did yell for us we couldn't really hear him and we just kept going until the lights suddenly multiplied and we were being charged at by trench dwellers๐ญ๐
long story short, we were fighting them for a hot minute before we finally managed to knock them out and then we swam back up to the surface to call for barry to pick us up
we were bruised, exhausted, half-dazed. honestly, none of us were operating at full brain capacity. then we stumbled onto the jet, collapsed into our seats and buckled up then... the door starts closing. except garfield forgot to buckle his seatbelt๐๐ญ
and the second the jet lifted off, the shift in pressure flung him straight out of the closing door like a green ragdoll and literally none of us noticed because 1. he made no noise 2. we were so out of it
it wasnโt until barry turned around, trying to congratulate us, then he proceeded asked us where beastboy was... took us a while to process what he said but we ended up turning back the jet to grab him out of he water
