To this day I cannot fathom the fact that some people give Kaidan (and to some extent, Ashley and Liara) shit for the ninjamance bs in ME1. It is not the characters’ fault that the developers didn’t make it obvious to the player that they’re romancing them. Other RPGs (including DA) give the player a hint - usually a little heart icon or a very obvious romantic line.
It’s not the character “simping” for the MC, it’s poor game design choice point blank. If you include romances in your game, then you need to make it obvious that the player is about to lock themselves into a romance. “It was a different time” is not an excuse either, there were other games at that time that had these kinds of options. Bioware failed to properly incorporate a romance mechanic and now we have senseless hate thrown at fictional characters, even though it’s not the characters’ fault that the developers threw very vague dialogue options at the player.
What I’m saying is that the hate towards the LIs in ME1 for this reason is very misguided. Criticize them for other reasons for all I care, but they shouldn’t be hated for a poor game design choice.

first it was waiting for the embassy to resume interviews (that’s more than 1 year of not-knowing and living life in limbo) and then getting the magical interview schedule all of a sudden anD then it is the lockdowns that loom over our heads like a threat !!!!!
