okay, so im just imagining a puffy who is a pirate and raids a trader's ship, and in the cabins underneath the deck, she finds a tank with a baby mer inside. the water is murky, the tank is unkempt, and the mer looks starved. the mer speaks in clicks and whistles, like a dolphin, but seems to understand english. so, he seems to understand when puffy tells him she would free him.
puffy immediately adopts the baby mer and names him dream. she orders her men to carry the tank to her ship so she can clean it and keep dream on her ship. but she also allows dream to swim in the ocean when he wants, too. dream is a free mer, now. but dream attaches himself to puffy quickly, seeing her as his new pod.
dream is smart and a quick learner and eventually learns several human languages, including english. he gets along well with his older human brother, foolish. the pirate crew are endeared to him. he makes new friends, like bad and his son, sapnap. everyone loves their new baby mer crewmate.
except ... puffy didn't realise just how quickly, and how much, mers grew.
pretty soon, she has a three-hundred foot leviathan who protects her ship in the deep waters and would die for her crew.
(never mind the fact that the leviathan, the mer, is a total sweetheart and commonly teases his older brother about being his "little" brother, to foolish's chagrin).
like, imagine one scene. george is new on the ship and keeps track of the ledgers and numbers of the ship. he doesn't know about their fellow mer crewmate yet, because dream doesn't show himself to new crew members right away. one day, they're raided by another pirate ship and are taken captive. sapnap edges closer to the railing on the side, he takes his dagger - which hadn't been apprehended yet like the other weapons - and he throws it over the side of the ship.
it plops into the water with an anticlimactic splash.
george could almost scream. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?" he wants to yell. instead, he says, lamely, "that was our last hope. gone."
the opposing pirates all laugh at him, thinking sapnap stupid.
"any moment, now," sapnap says.
"any moment, what -"
and then a leviathan breeches the water, covered in green scales. its at least a hundred feet long, or at least, the bit outside the water is. its tail is still hidden in the depths. and, oh - the leviathan looks pissed, too. its teeth are bared, long, shark-like teeth on display.
"who dares hurt my family?" the leviathan demands, holding the previously thrown dagger pinched between its fingers.
His body twitched as he laid there, emotionless on the ground, his eyes cloudy; mouth dry. Each and only thoughts on his mind was to remind himself to breathe, at the moment no other soul was around, only the bloody carcasses of animals; a gruesome sight, where he would once emit care, laid a shell of a man; no ounce of the person he once was.
Time was irrelevant to him, no longer could he tell when a day has gone by, everything blurring together, he swears he feels dead, the way his body is cold and his breaths could be barely felt by he himself.
His eye's drooped closed, what little energy he had grasped on was whisked away, each shallow and sharp breath he took; pained his chest, he took one last weak glance at the trees he caught sight of, and drifted off.
<><>○<><>
A man—giant— walked across the lands, not a single thought in mind, he was just a wandering traveler after all, heading into the unexpected. No end in mind, a weird sense of dread, crawled up his skin; the cold air nipping at his skin as it neared the winter season, flocks of birds migrating infront of him, as they ran from the freezing temperatures.
He sighs, and closes his eyes, his strides continuing, this time his other senses took over as he guided his body through the trees. The ground dipped and his eye's zapped opened and stared at the ground.
A clear line was drawn on the ground; clearly made by a giant, it was the line they created just to say, "there's still humans here, be careful when crossed, blah blah." The giant sighed, it seems there is an end to his journey(for this direction atleast)
He coughed and let out a sigh, he turned around and started heading back, the man was only a few minutes into his journey back until he heard a deep groan of pain; he blinked for a few moments, strands of brown hair falling on his face as he made sure he wasn't hearing things. A few moments pass and he heard another groan, he turned around to look for the source and peeking behind the trees he could see a weird lump; moving? Breathing.
The man gasped and quickly went over and the sight made his stomach drop, he was a bit of a softie, okay! The bloody carcasses of animals accompanied with the stench of rot and death was sickening and the man laying in the midst of it all did not help ease him, he would've thought the man was dead if it was not for his chest that weakly rose and fell.
He took a step forward, holding in his breath, the man infront of him looked disheveled and sickening, his stomach dropped as he saw the man twitch; he was considering on turning around, forgetting this entire ordeal, but the man in front of him made him think. His cheeks were faintly sunken in, the dark bags under his eyes were a pain to see, the matted and bloodied hair making him feel a weird disgusted feeling. He felt- sympathy and remorse, for the man infront of him.
He grimaced as he pushed away the rotting animal corpses, giving him enough space to kneel; his cottage wasn't to far anyways—he had on a satchel that touched the ground as he kneeled. His hand twitched as he slowly inched to touch the man, unruly rough skin met soft delicate ones. The off-putting feeling made him wince, and the contact of the two made Dream flinch.
Yet the man smiled, a soft, caring look on his face, even with the blond man's clearly starved state, he was a struggle to move. He hoisted him up his shoulder, the passed out giant clearly taller than him.
<><>○<><>
Heat...Warmth...Crackling-
Fire?
Dreams eyes blinked open, the first thing that filled his vision was the color orange, he instantly sat up, confused with his surroundings, he could tell he was on some sort of makeshift couch, his eyes darted left and right, the unfamiliar surrounding; slowly unblurring.
"Oh! You're awake!"
A voice, chipper and bubbly, came up from behind him, as his eyes zapped to look at the giant behind him, the mans brown locks falling infront of his face, the blond was confused and slowly adjusted his body to turn to him; sure, maybe he should have tried running away after waking up in a strange place, and being greeted by a fellow giant who he had no recall of knowing, however, his body ached and the somewhat plush couch he was on helped eased the tension in his body.
"How're you feeling?" The brunette said, slowly inching closer placing a bowl filled with something he couldn't comprehend at the moment on the table infront of him. The other giant sat beside him on the couch, slowly as to not startle the blond, "How're you feeling?" He smiled, repeating his question after a few minutes of deafening silence.
"Can—Can I feel your head?" The brunette asked with softness in his tone, Dream blinked, unsure with what to do, he craned his neck and nodded, Bad was pleased with the answer and reached out one hand to feel his temperature, surprisingly the man seemed to be okay, besides the obvious scars on his body.
"I made pottage stew- here you can have it." He says, picking up the bowl and handing it over to him, it took Dream a few moments to register what he was doing and brought his shaky hands to clutch the bowl. "I'm Bad." The brunette said, his lips parting and shaping into a very toothy smile.
The blond felt ashamed and confused, this random stranger was here- helping him? "Bad?" He breathed out, the brunette giggled, "Yeah- it's an unusual name, what's yours?" He looked down, muttering, "...Dream." Bad hummed in reply, and gestured to the soup. "I'll leave you to eat, we took a two day travel here and you were passed out the whole way..." After a giggle in which Dream responded with an awkward chuckle, the brunette turned the corner; leaving Dream, befuddled, and utterly alone with his thoughts.
He stared at the bowl in his hands; in which they shook lightly, almost threatening to drop it. He sighed, his shoulders slumping and his fingers found a way to the spoon, he scooped up some soup and gently brought it up to his chapped lips. As the soup landed on his tongue, he raised his eyebrows, it was...okay?
Don't get him wrong, he's extremely thankful, he's actually been given somewhat of a meal after months of bearing with whatever he could scrounge up. But- the soup tasted bland, or maybe it just wasn't his taste. Yeah, that was probably it.
He still of course gulped it all down, it was still quite filling and it satisfied him just enough. The blond placed the empty bowl down and took another look in the room he was in; the cottage was quaint, it didn't have much; which was expected, not many giants had the resources to make a somewhat lavish home.
He let out a deep sigh, he shifted in his seat; both his body and the chair, groaning, he spotted a clump of thin fabric, assumed to be a blanket. He lifted up the item, draping it around his body. Then he thought.
Bad seemed nice enough.
He helped him after all.
Speaking of, the man entered back into the room, a gentle smile on his face. In his hands, held a fresh pair of clothes, neatly folded in his arms, "I got you a decent set of clothes." He beamed, seeming just a tad bit cheerier than before, he heard a soft thud and he realized that Bad was holding a cup of water, and had just placed it down, how did he not see that?
He rasped out a thank you, hoarse and rough words leaving his lips, Bad giggled and gestured to the water; "Yeah, you definitely need a drink, your throat is bone dry." Dream lifted the cup to his opened mouth, chugging it down; he realized how thirsty he was, the cup was placed down on the table and Bad finally handed him the clothes.
"You can change right here, if you need anything I'll be in the other room!" He waves a hand and quickly disappeared behind the walls again.
Okay, he could deal with this, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
He swears, he's dying.
Okay, maybe he was exaggerating, just a teensy-tiny bit; here's the thing, even with Bad helping him out, and him doing his best to help in any way he can; and Bad was a delight, his health wasn't doing well, his immune system had apparently weakened after he lived in unhealthy conditions, he would constantly get fevers; yet, Bad was there and took the time to care for him.
Even after everything that Bad was doing for him, he was constantly unsatisfied and uncomfortable. Not because of the other of course- well, maybe? Dream was not one to judge, but, the food Bad had been serving him has been rather...bland. It was hard to describe, Dream knew it was good, since another traveler came by and asked if they could get a meal and they raved about the simple dish that the other had made until they left to continue their travel.
So Dream thought maybe the dishes just weren't to his taste, until, Bad handed him a simple loaf of bread; it couldn't be anymore simpler(well sorta). In short: he knew that Bad's cooking wasn't the problem.
So what was it?
He never really felt hungry, per se, he just felt unsatisfied, sometimes he'd turn a bit agitated, he wasn't proud of it; but he couldn't just tell that to Bad! He had already done so much for him, yet, he couldn't take it, he was weak ever since he was ever captured.
That night he tossed and turned on the couch, which was still generously provided by the brunette as a place to rest on. The fire place wasn't lit with a warm blaze, the only source of light being the rays of moonlight gleaming through the windows. The couch creaked as his weight left and he stood by the window staring above. The full moon an ethereal mirror reflecting the whispers of the cosmos, capturing the secrets of the universe in its luminous embrace. Dancing across his features, illuminating his beauty too anyone that may have seen him.
His stomach grumbled and flashes of memories resurfaced to the front of his mind, he felt a familiar taste lingering on his tongue, the taste of raw alive meat heavy on his tastebuds, animal or human? He couldn't tell. His stomach continued to groan, clearly the meal from earlier didn't satiate his hunger. He turned around, his feet carrying him towards the hallway.
The cottage was quiet, eerily so, he crept through the short hall, he spotted Bad's room, his door was completely shut which eased him ever so slightly. Bad was a heavy sleeper, that he learned. His feet led him towards the kitchen, his hands reaching on the counter top where a bowl of walnuts sat. The blonds fingertips were about to grab them, yet, he sagged and dropped his arms. His body was practically begging for food, yet the kitchen had nothing to offer him that appealed to him.
His eyes landed on the door.
He could go hunt.
Bad wouldn't mind.
His tastebuds moaned as the first taste of meat fell on his tongue, he had wandered off into the night searching for a midnight snack; which led to the poor demise of a sleeping deer. Of course, that would only be the first, but the buck itself filled him with a sense of calm, flooding his tastebuds with a flavor that felt...right.
Throughout the night he could only find small critters, which were quite hard to grab; they all scurried off in a frenzy the second they sensed him, he sighed deeply, he wasn't even frustrated. The serenity of the moonlit night was different, this was the first time he actually gotten to rest and appreciate the night in a long, long while. Not even the crickets chirped, only the softest, of the gentle breezes accompanied him and his thoughts.
He was still hungry, that was obvious but, for now, he could wait..
He didn't know how long he stayed there, leaning against a huge tree; eyes shut, and breaths steady. He just knew, when he heard a faint, yet, deep rumble. His eyes blinked opened and he turned his head to look behind the trees, he spotted a cave, like an empty black void, he couldn't see what was making that sound; he could only hear.
Dream sat patiently, as he awaited for whatever thing or creature emerged from the depths of darkness, his entire body perked uo as he watched a huge brown paw peek out and he had to physically seize his body to stop him from immediately pouncing. He sat still in his place, his hands wrapping around and clenching the grass below him.
A mad grin found it's way to his face as the bear fully emerged out of it's cave, the bear was clearly groggy, stumbling over its own footing; whom clearly had just woken up from its slumber, the bear sniffed the air; still unaware of his presence. The creature had it's back face to him and in queue his attention went to his growling stomach and growing hunger.
As the bear was distracted he let go and immediately lunged at the bear, with limited reaction time in a few desperate moments of struggle, Dream prevailed and the bear would soon end up in his stomach. It was a gnarly sight to see, it wasn't exactly messy, just- disturbing. If a giant passed by then they'd shrug, likely not even looking his way. But if a human saw him, then that's different.
Seeing a giant bulky bear being chewed to the bone by a giant wouldn't be something a sane human would want to see, and on top of that, Dream was there, sitting in an awkward position; savoring the creature, with small bites. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten like this, with such wild and unrestrained abandon.. it was like he had transformed into a wild animal, a creature driven by instinct and desire...and it felt so damn good...he knew that he must have looked ridiculous and uncouth, but he didn't care...all that mattered was the taste and texture of the meat, the feeling of it sliding down his throat and filling his belly...he was in heaven, pure and absolute heaven...
His world stopped as he heard a voice.
"...Dream?"
With a gulp, he slowly turned his head to the side, seeing two dark figures; ever so slowly inching closer to him. His heart raced as the moonlight shone upon the figures faces. Their small human bodies tense, and so was he. The blonds eyes widened as he took a good long look at them, and they all sat in an uncomfortable silence.
Recently I just re-watched the winter soldier movie. I really like Bucky so damn much so I just popped out an idea. What if the winter soldier has the ability to size-shift too uwu.
And in this au, I wanted Dweam to be the winter soldier. George and Sapnap are a super soldier. But I don’t want both of them have the same ability as Captian America has. So I decided to give them some super powa— haha
So here is my DWEAM, three of them joined the military. And Dream was separated during a fight on the train ( which is where the scene Bucky fell off the train). After that the Hydra captured and tortured him. They also brainwashed and turned him to a winter soldier.
Anddd about gogy and sapnap, both of them became a super soldier after Dream was captured. They received some super power like control the gravity ? ( Basically gogy can lifts up everything) and sapnap is a fire boy. Also, George doesn’t not have blue eyes if he doesn’t use his powa.
These drawings took me days to complete it hahaha (pAiN) BUT ! There’s few more scenes I really want to redraw! Let’s see how determined I am to draw them all xD
I wasn’t planned to draw the character setting thingy. But I just can’t help myself hahah!

"It's not my fault, you know!?" said a fly hybrid as he flew really fast with his friend. “Yeah, yeah, shut up and keep flying! The stupid bird is about to catch up with us! I don't want to end up being bird food!” said the other.
They were both hovering around the forest they were in, trying to lose sight of the bird that was chasing them.
"Is it still behind us?!" “Yeah, it looks like it's not going to get tired anytime soon! We have to find a place to take shelter!” he answers back, flying faster.
The black-haired man let out a sigh. "I don't think I'm going to make it… My wings hurt…" The other looks at him with concern. “What nonsense are you talking about Sapnap?! Of course you're going to make it! I'm not going to let you die, much less at the hands of a stupid bird!"
Dream quickly approaches his friend and grabs his arm, dragging him along at the same speed. He quickly scanned the surroundings as they flew, his eyes fixing on a hole.
"There! There we can hide from the bird and you can rest your wings!” Sapnap nods as Dream continues to drag him. They quickly head into the hole, when Sapnap's eyes widen in fear. "Wait! Dream stop!” Dream was going to ask him what was wrong, when his eyes also widened in fear and he tried to brake suddenly.
Both hybrids collided with a spider web. “S-Shit…! How could I not see it?!” he yelled trying to get away from it, but it was impossible. The black-haired man next to him sighed deeply.
"Now we are going to die..." Dream looked at him sadly. "Nonono... We'll get out of this Sap-" "No Dream... Not this time..." he interrupted him. He went to try to convince him when a ‘loud’ laugh echoed around them.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here…?” said a voice. Dream and Sapnap looked up, both wide-eyed in terror. "Apparently two small snacks got trapped on my web, huh?"
The voice continued, which turned out to be the voice of a spider hybrid. "Let us go!" Dream yelled at him, being a hybrid, they might have a chance to make it out alive. Or so he thought until the spider spoke again.
"And why should I? You two look really delicious.” He responds with a smirk as he reaches for Sapnap, pulling him out of the web. The raven only squirms in the grip of the larger hybrid.
“Sapnap! Let him go!" Dream yelled, watching helplessly from the web. The spider just looked at him with a smirk, putting the hybrid in his hold, inside his mouth, closing it with an audible click of his teeth.
It wasn't long before the spider swallowed, sending the hybrid down his throat. “SAPNAP!” Dream watched in horror as the bulge, which was Sapnap, made its way down the larger hybrid's throat until it disappeared below the collarbone.
He licked his lips, now looking at the green fly, pulling him out of the web and bringing him closer to his lips. Dream squirmed as hard as he could, but that didn't stop the spider from shoving him into his mouth.
Immediately the tongue began to lick him, covering him in saliva. Dream tried to move away from the muscle in vain. Soon the spider got tired and pushed him to the back of his mouth, swallowing him without any effort.
Dream wriggled his way down until he entered a more open space. He looked around for a moment though he could barely see, someone hugging him from behind. Sapnap.
"Sapnap..." he said softly, looking at the Raven and hugging him back. "I’m sorry..." They both sat up, leaning against the spider’s stomach wall, as Sapnap let out a sob.
He wasn't the type of person who would show his feelings like that, but they were about to die so he really didn't care at that moment.
Meanwhile, the spider just rolled his eyes, they were crying for nothing. They would soon find out about it. So he closed his eyes and with a hand over them, he fell asleep.

“Come on George! You’ve got to see this Hill!!” Sapnap said as the hunter trudged through the snow behind him. “It’s perfect for luging down with the sleds!!”
“Yes Sapnap, I know. You’ve said so like 20 times already.” George said as he tugged his jacket on closer. It wasn’t really fair that his friend, the literal fire born demon hybrid, didn't need to stay rugged up to stay warm. It’s not that he wasn’t accustomed to the cold though as a Hunter. Harsh terrain and cold nights out on long hunts were part of the job, but still. He didn’t like exposing himself to the cold weather when he didn’t have to. But no one else wanted to join Sapnap on his escapade when he returned to the village one day, claiming he found the greatest Hill with the most perfect slope to sled down or ‘luge’ down, as he claimed was the proper term. But it was just too cold for most people and while George had reluctantly agreed, the more Sapnap described the location, the more something felt off about this supposed ‘Hill’. He knew the land better than anyone and well, the Hill Sapnap described, didn’t exist. Not to George’s knowledge anyways.
“But that’s because it is George!!” Sapnap stated as he adjusted his grip on the sled. “And you’re taking forever to get there!!!”
“Hey you’re literally melting snow as you walk making it easier to get through. Not all of us are walking furnaces!” George remarked as he tried to catch up to his friend. Winter was in full swing now with every night leaving a fresh layer of white powdered snow in its wake. The world a glowing; but cold, Winter wonderland.
“Oh come on George! Lighten up! It’s not that cold.” Sapnap exclaimed, shoving a jab at the hunters arm.
“Uh huh. Sure it isn’t.”
After several more minutes of walking, George began to get impatient. They’d been walking for ages and he swears he’d seen that same tree for the 3rd time this trip. “Snapmap, you’re supposed to know where this great Hill is, BEFORE you make someone walk all the way there..” George muttered as he saw the same bush for the 4th time.
“If you call me Snapmap again, we're gonna have issues George.” A glaring Sapnap responded as they continued on.
“Just saying Sapnap, I swear if we walk past the same ruined portal again for the 5th time I’m going to-”
“THERE IT IS!” George watched as his friend ran to the ‘very real’ Hill that was presented before him. The angle just right to slide down at a controlled speed. No trees in the way, or bulges of snow that could hide potential hidden boulders. Completely flat and smooth from the fresh layer of powdered snow. Just as Sapnap described: The perfect Hill. But something was off about it. George was positive he’d never seen a Hill like this before in all the time he’s been in the area. Not even in the warmer months of Summer could he recall a hill being so bare that snowed over it would look as good as this. But none of George’s inner concerns seemed to phase Sapnap, as his friend began to climb the Hill.
“Come on George! Hurry up!” Sapnap called as he continued the climb up. George raced to catch up. Panting a little as the icy winds filled his lungs. By the time Geroge finally did catch up to Sapnap, they had reached the top of the Hill. It had quite the view and was just high enough that they could see parts of their home further off in the distance where some of the lower trees stood.
“It’s perfect, isn’t it?” Sapnap turned to George expectedly, a gleam in his eyes.
“Sapnap, don’t you think it’s a little too perfect? I know these woods better than anyone and I swear I’ve never seen this hill before.” Sapnap simply shrugged.
“You’ve probably just never come through this part of the forest before George.” he replied as he placed the sled down and began to get situated atop of it. “Now come on, get on already. I’ve waited long enough for someone to join me.”
George wanted to believe Sapnap he really did, but he couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong. It just didn’t make sense that such a hill like this could just magically exist. He’d seen map after map and couldn’t pin ever seeing this Hill around ever! Or maybe he was just tired and the cold was getting to him? Sometimes he got a little weird when he was tired enough. At least he had the dagger attached to his belt if something was wrong.
Reluctantly, the Hunter eventually sat down on the sled and the two began their descent. They did a few runs down the slope taking turns on who sat in front. At first, George was able to let his mind relax. It was a good day and Sapnap was right, the Hill was perfect for sledding down. Every run down the hill had been smooth and allowed for them to gain some great speed, but after the fourth run, the little nagging voice in George’s mind started to whisper.
‘Why have there been no bumps on the slope? Why have there been no rocks to avoid coming down? Mother Nature is a wonder, but surely there should be something, anything to cause a rough run of the slope?
It was George’s turn to steer the sled as he and Sapnap boarded the sled once more. But George just couldn’t shake the feelings. Something wasn’t right.
“Sapnap,” George began as he turned to face his friend. “Don’t you think it’s a bit odd that we haven’t had a single ditch or rock to avoid for any of the runs?”
“No, not really.” Sapnap replied. “I mean, I did say this Hill was perfect but now that you mention it, we haven’t had a single bad run yet have we?”
“And you don’t find that strange?” George inquired as he turned to face his friend. “I know these woods Sapnap. I’ve never come across this hill ever and even if I had, no hill is this perfect!”
Sapnap suddenly stood and got off the board moving to position himself in front of George. He then proceeded to crouch down into the snow. “Well if you’re so sure that there’s something wrong about my ‘perfect Hill,” Sapnap said he leaned forward planting a hand in the snow. “Then let’s take a look at it without the snow in the way.” Without a second thought, Sapnap began to melt the icy soft blanket of snow, revealing a very bright green patch of ground. At first glance you’d think it was grass. But George knew better. They were in the middle of December. The season of Winter. Grass was never that green. Curiously, George reached forward to touch the baffling green ground. Although damp from the snow, George recognised the texture. Fabric. And by the feel of it, Jersey knit.
“It’s a blanket?” George said flatly to Sapnap, confusion evidently painted across his face.
“Why on earth would someone leave a blanket here?” Sapnap replied. George then tried to pull the blanket up from the ground. However, it did not budge. In fact, it barely lifted from the ground at all. Perhaps too much of the blanket was buried? Clearly also complexed by the odd blanket before them, Sapnap began to melt away more of the snow, revealing more of the green fabric. Why on earth was this thing so big?
“Maybe if I melt enough of this snow away, we’ll be able to lift it up?” Sapnap said as he melted away another patch of snow. It just didn’t make sense. None of this dumb Hill made sense!!! That feeling of dread George had before began to seep back into consciousness. Why would someone leave a blanket out here? And such a huge one at that! Fabric like this cost a lot of emeralds when trading from villagers and why on this Hill that shouldn’t exist in all its perfectness? Before George’s thoughts could spiral once more, the ground suddenly shifted. And then again. And again. Earthquakes weren’t completely uncommon in the area but this didn’t feel right.
“Sheesh this blanket is huge!” Sapnap said as he melted another patch of snow away, oblivious to the building tremors. “I could make like 6 giant hoodies with this stuff!”
And then it all clicked. Why he’d never seen this Hill before. How it was so smooth and perfect. Why this green fabric was here and so huge!
“Sapnap, get on the sled now.” George said as he slid himself slightly towards him. “Oh come on George,” irritation clear in the hybrid's voice as he continued to melt some more snow. Not wanting to waste anymore time, George reached over and grabbed Sapnap, yanking him into the board. “WHAT THE HECK GEORGE??? I JUST WANTED TO GE-“
“Sapnap you don’t understand this isn’t a hill!!!” George cut Sapnap off as he got situated on the board. “It’s a flippen AHH!” The sled suddenly lurched forward into motion, nearly throwing the two riders off. The Hill was moving.
“What the Heck???” Sapnap said as he tried to regain his balance. The Hill suddenly moved again, launching them both back into motion. George gripped the controls of the sled harder trying to steer the sled down the hill on the moving terrain. He turned to the right aiming straight for the tree line at the bottom. If they could just make it into the trees then they could get away. “GEORGE! SLOW DOWN!!!” Sapnap yelled as he latched onto the Hunter in an effort to not be thrown off from the speed and unevenness of moving terrain. But he couldn’t stop! Not when the ground was shaking and they were sledding on top of a sleeping-
“WATCH OUT!!” Sapnap screeched as a wall suddenly appeared before them. Unfortunately, the warning came too late and the two slammed into the upright surface. In fact they slammed so hard that the upright wall was now horizontally flat.
“Ugh ouch that hurt.” Sapnap dazedly said, rubbing at his head. George pushed himself up on the surprisingly squishy surface. But George didn’t have very long to process because all at once, the ground they were on was moving. George latched onto the closest thing his arms could wrap around and tightly shut his eyes. He felt gravity shift as he was lifted up higher and higher from the ground to his impending doom. He’d heard the urban myths and legends of what was supposedly a terrifying creature living in the woods. A tale to keep young children within the safety of the village walls. But never before had George ever considered the stories true. And he was certainly not equipped for what would be a losing battle. Warm air suddenly washed over his body. Shakily, he lifted his head and opened his eyes to reveal his worst nightmare. A giant.
Oh and if it couldn’t get any worse, it was looking straight at him. Or we’ll at least it was trying to? Said giant only looked to be half awake. Its green eyes were trying to focus on him but seemed to be covered in a sleepy haze. Wait. Sleepy? Oh. They’d been sledding on a sleeping giant. And they just went and woke it up…
Said giant yawned and rubbed at its eyes. He was still tired and the world felt cold. Too cold. Spring isn’t normally cold? Giants normally slept all through Winter so he wasn’t used to being awake when it was chilly.. At least he had thought to catch whatever it was on him before moving to sit up, but now he was annoyed because he was awake waaaaay too early and cold! He was acutely aware of the two humans sitting in his hand and had been semi aware they had been crawling all over him in his sleep which normally, wouldn’t be an issue. But he’d started to get really itchy on this one spot on his arm and it was extremely irritating. Irritating enough that he was awake. Great.
“Ughhhhhhhhh why’d I have to be woken up so early.” The giant exclaimed as it drew out a yawn.
George froze at the sight of the massive teeth the giant displayed as it yawned. They were too close and this giant sounded annoyed. Not good.
“And all because of an itch. Like seriously, I’ve slept through blizzard upon blizzard and a dumb itch wakes me up.” The giant said, as it sat up. George watched as the giant then used its free hand to scratch at a spot on its lower arm. The spot on the fabric of what George now recognised as a massive hoodie, was slightly different in colouration. It appeared slightly dryer. That was the spot Sapnap had melted snow on wasn’t it? And the giant was complaining about it. They were dead. Oh so totally dead. George turned to Sapnap, who had the same look of realization on his face. George grabbed Sapnap's wrist and pulled him closer to him, and the edge of the giant's palm. He eyed Sapnap off from him, to the ground, silently communicating what he had planned. They were going to have to jump. There was no way they could fight off a giant. But as the two were about to jump, the giants' other hand appeared and cupped around the other, effectively trapping them both within its grasp.
“Careful.” The giant said, its tone laced with concern. “We wouldn’t want you falling now.”
Well there goes that idea. What could they possibly do now?
“Please,” Sapnap said suddenly. “Please don’t hurt us! We didn’t mean to wake you up!” George turned to face his friend. “It's my fault you woke up. I just wanted to luge!”
George’s heart panged at the response of his friend. Sapnap had just wanted to go sledding and no doubt felt it was his fault they were in this mess, if the fear and guilt weren’t evidence enough on his face.
“No. It’s not his fault. It’s mine.” George said, conviction in his voice. He had urged Sapnap to melt the ground. He was the reason he had melted the snow, skeptical of what lay beneath. He’d been right of course, that it wasn’t a hill, but it was still unfair to Sapnap to take the blame. “Sapnap didn’t mean to melt the snow and wake you up! I just didn’t believe you were a real hill we were sledding on, and told him to melt the ice.” George then moved to be in front of Sapnap as he continued. “Please, let him go. You can do whatever you want to me, just don’t hurt Sapnap.”
The giant just stared at the two humans in his hands, its expression changing from one of sleepy concern to confusion.
“Hurt him?” The giant furrowed its brow. “Oh Prime no I’m not going to hurt either of you!” the giant said. “I knew you were crawling all over me and that’s normal when I go into hibernation for the winter, and sure you woke me up from the itchiness of the heat,” the giant raised George and Sapnap higher to its face to be eye level with it as it spoke. “But that’s no reason to hurt you. I could have been woken by anything. You were just curious, that's all.” Well George collapsed to his knees right there and then, adrenaline leaving him exhausted. He was still wary of what this giant could do, but the assurance that he and Sapnap weren’t going to die was good.
“You alright there little guy?” The giant said as it lifted a thumb towards George for support. “Yeah yeah, I’m alright.” George said as grasped the giant appendage to help get his bearings. “Oh the name is Dream by the way.” The giant, Dream said. “George and he’s Sapnap.” George replied. “We’re sorry for using you as a sled slope.” Sapnap said to the giant. “It’s just well, snowed over, you really were the perfect Hill.” Sapnap said awkwardly as he fiddled with his shirt. The giant simply threw his head back and laughed before doubling over wheezing.
“Oh so that’s what you were doing.” Dream said as he tried to compose himself. “Honestly I was so confused about what you were doing by how you moved around, but was too sleepy to worry about it.” George and Sapnap looked at each other before also bursting out laughing.
“Yeah that must have felt so weird with the sled suddenly racing down your backside, or uh arm. Wherever we were sliding.” George replied as he tried to compose himself.
“Yeah it’s a shame though. You really were the most perfect bill for luging down.” Sapnap said a tad sheepishly.
“Well,” Dream began as he searched the ground for something. “I don’t mind if you use me to luge down.” Dream then shifted George and Sapnap into one hand as he used the other to pluck something from the ground. Opening his hand, the giant presented the two with the sled. “You’re welcome to slide down me as often as you like.” Sapnap's face lit up at the notion.
“For real? You wouldn’t mind?”
“Not at all! Just, don’t go around melting things on me in my sleep.” Dream said as he winked.
“Done deal.” George piped up. “And I’ll make sure of it that even in the future, no one lights fires on you while you rest.”
“I appreciate that George.” Dream replied. “While I don’t mind being used as slope, I’d rather not be woken mid sleep.” Dream laughed. George looked to Sapnap and then to the giant.
“We will make sure no one knows you’re even here.” He said as he smiled .
And so it went, after that fateful day a tradition of sorts was formed. Every snowy winter season, when the earth was painted white, and the air a chilly ice, Sapnap, George and anyone who wished would journey to the mysterious perfect Hill and have a fun day filled with sledding. And while no one knew what happened to the Hill during the warmer months, George and Sapnap were off exploring the world with their very special friend. A perfect Hill.
Dream was hit with a random potion or curse by a witch. At first, he thinks it does nothing, because he has no side effects.
But then, over the next week, he slowly starts to grow. He gains several feet in height.
Dream, George, and Sapnap set off on a journey to find someone to break the curse, before Dream grows too big to even interact with his friends.
Just imagine the different stages of height.
8 feet tall Dream. Cuddle time. Dream can still rough house with his friends, and he drags them to bed to sleep.
10 feet tall Dream. George runs up to him with something to show him in his hands. Dream crouches down and tilts his head, holding out his hand to see the object. He swallowed back the strange sound that bubbles through his throat when he sees how small George's hand is in his - Dream can encompass both of George's hands within one of his.
Somewhere between 20 and 30 feet tall, Dream starts to carry George and Sapnap when he walks. He is just too big, now. His strides are too long and George and Sapnap can't keep up. He carries them in his arms, like babies, in the beginning. As he gets bigger and bigger, he starts to put them on his shoulders, in his hood, and finally in his pockets.
130 feet tall Dream. He can now put George and Sapnap in his inventory.
