Can you do #39 on the Follower Celebration Prompt w/ McGee. Like he ends up cheating with Delilah? I feel evil 😈~ 🦋✨
Pairing: McGee x GN!reader
A/N: OH MY GOSH ANON!! I love it!! I love a good angsty fic and a cheating McGee?! Yes!! (Does this make me evil too?🤷♀️ 😉) I’m going to clarify though that I don’t think beginning seasons McGee would do this, but once he gains his confidence in the later seasons, I could see this happening. (Geez anon, now I’m saying that I could see him being a cheater 😬 I really am evil…) These drabbles are getting out of hand, because I’m pretty sure I’m making each one longer than the last 🙄😬
39. “To think that I actually loved you.”
The excitement racing through you made it hard to stand still as you waited for the elevator to arrive on Tim’s floor. You’d just gotten off a long shift at work and instead of going home to crash on the couch while your favorite tv show played on in the background, you had decided to surprise Tim by stopping by on your way home.
The two of you had had opposite work schedules for the better part of the last month, meaning that you hadn’t seen each other for at least that long, if not longer. Phone calls were few and far between and despite having a very tech savvy boyfriend, you still had yet to figure out how to properly use video calls without somehow managing to hang up on Tim. And as convenient as texting was, you really just wanted to see your boyfriend in person, thus the reason you were showing up unannounced at 10pm on a Thursday.
You flip through the keys on your key ring for a few seconds before finding the key to Tim’s apartment door. You unlock it, your excitement growing as you swing the door open. A feeling of surprise blooms in your chest as you take in the atmosphere of the apartment.
The apartment was mostly dark, a few lit, well placed candles being the only source of light in the apartment, aside from the soft blue glowing light coming from Tim’s computer monitors. A delicious, homey smell wafted out of the kitchen and into what you called the ‘living room’. You drop your work bag and keys by the door, slipping off your shoes as you wonder if Tim somehow knew you’d be stopping by.
Only a few seconds later, upon entering the kitchen, you find out how truly wrong you’d been in thinking this was for you. Sitting at what you considered to be ‘your spot’ at the kitchen island was a beautiful brunette. You’d met her once or twice at a few of Tim’s work functions that he’d taken you to but you hadn’t a clue why she was sitting in Tim’s kitchen.
“Hello.” You say as you step into view, startling Tim enough that he drops the dish he’d been washing.
“Y/N, what ah- what are you doing, here I mean?” He stammers out nervously, quickly drying his hands before coming up to you.
“I could ask you the same thing.” Tim’s eyes shift from yours to the brunette’s, and then back to yours as if he didn’t know what you were talking about.
“In my apartment?” He questions, and for a moment you wonder how someone so smart could be so clueless.
“No Tim. What are you doing here with her?” You ask, jerking a thumb in the direction of the brunette, who was opening and closing her mouth as if she wanted to say something.
“It’s a work thing.” Tim states simply, as if it should have been clear to you that’s all that was going on with the two of them.
“Tim I wasn’t born yesterday. I know a work dinner when I see one and this isn’t it.” You spit out as a torrent of emotions rises in your chest.
“I’m going to go.” The brunette says as she makes a hasty retreat to the door. “Thanks for dinner Tim. I’ll talk to you later.” She gives him a gentle smile over her shoulder before she pulls the door closed.
You turn your gaze back to Tim, the tears clouding your Y/E/C eyes sending a shock of surprise through him. “Why Tim?” You murmur, your words so quiet he almost misses them. He slowly follows behind you as you move back towards the apartment door.
“To think that I wasted years pining over you, trying desperately to get your attention, to get you to see that I liked you.” You say defeatedly as you pick up your keys and bag from where you’d dropped them by the door. “To think that I actually loved you.”
You shake your head softly as you pull open the door to Tim’s apartment. “Well, not anymore.”
Tim watches you go, unsure of what to do, what to say, what to think. He knew he’d screwed up. Although the evening had started as something of a work dinner, it had shortly become much more than that. Secrets had been shared over glasses of red wine, followed by his hand brushing up against hers and only moments before Y/N had entered the apartment, a soft, almost delicate meeting of lips over the center of the kitchen island.
But you meant far more to him than Delilah ever would, yet he’d went and ruined everything the two of you had anyway. He knew he didn’t have the right to follow after you and beg for forgiveness or tell you that he loved you, despite everything inside him wanting desperately to do so.
Instead, he did one of the hardest things he ever had to do in his life; he let you go. He didn’t follow after you and plead for a second chance. He didn’t call you the next day, asking for a chance to explain. He didn’t stop by your office a week later to try and fix the mess he’d made of your relationship. No, he let you walk right out of his life, knowing that he hadn’t loved you the way you deserved, that he hadn’t loved you in the way he’d promised you he had.
And the hardest part, Tim soon realized, was watching someone else love you and make you truly happy, knowing that never again would he have the chance to do that for you.

You make every day worth living (Timothy McGee x Reader)
•• Hello all! ❤️ I hope you all enjoy! ••
Waking up after the sun rose was a rarity you usually only enjoyed on the weekends when you didn't have a case. Much less during a case. You rolled over in the motel bed and stretched out your legs with a sigh. You turned your head to look at the alarm clock. It was just shy of eight in the morning. When you sat up the frustration in the back of your mind dropped down to the pit of your stomach. You slowly made your way to the bathroom and started the shower. While waiting for the water to warm up you leaned against the sink and looked at yourself in the mirror. The image of a body crumpled in a bloody heap behind a dumpster flashed through your mind. The murderer liked people with very specific physical attributes. You just so happened to have all of them. You blinked at your now blurry reflection.
“Shit!” You exclaimed, stepping into the shower. While you washed up your mind wandered to what Tim might be up to. Was he running late into the bullpen, with a burnt bagel sticking out of his mouth and a lukewarm coffee in his hand, or did he get up early enough to have already eaten and have a piping hot cup he'd be willing to share with you? You looked at your phone once you came out of the bathroom. You frowned. No texts, no calls, no nothing. A good morning text from Tim would have been nice. He liked to surprise you with little things like that. You'd both been on again off again for about a year now. You threw everything that had been in your go bag on the bed and sighed. You were all out of toothpaste and getting low on cash. Despite you telling Gibbs you wouldn't leave the motel room under any circumstances, except if it was on fire until they caught the guy, you headed out.
You hailed a cab back to your apartment to grab another bag of clothes and other things you might need. Who knows how long you might be away from home. You went to unlock your door and found yourself pushing the door open.
“I know I locked this when I left,” You mumbled before closing it behind you. You went down the hall to your bedroom and froze. The door was ajar and the hallway light was on. You gasped as the barrel of a gun was pushed into your back.
“Keep your hands where I can see them.” He ordered. “I was hoping to find you here.”
“So what? Are you going to kill me like the petty officer?”
“If the bitch just did as she was told she'd still be alive.” He chuckled. “Don't worry though, I'm sure you won't make the same mistake.”
“Why should I go with you?” You turned your head to face him. “Put that gun down and I can guarantee who's going to go with who.” He narrowed his eyes.
“I'll kill that slim guy you work with.” You wanted to reply with a smart ass remark, asking if he meant Jimmy or Tim, but you figured this wasn't the best time. You nodded.
“Alright, fine.” You dared to turn around completely. “I'll go with you, as long as you don't hurt him.” He smirked.
“I always keep my promises, baby.”
“Don't call me that.” You said through clenched teeth. He motioned to the door, grabbing a jacket off your couch and folding it over the gun.
“Out to my car. Let's go.”
The suspect ended up taking you to his house. Then to his basement. You wished you could have at least known where his house was, but once he got you out in his car he tied a blindfold around your eyes and ordered you to lay down in the backseat. He pushed you down into a bed and clasped a chain to your ankle. It was connected to the floor and let you walk all around the room, and to the connected bathroom, but you couldn't get out. He stands up and laughs.
“You'll come around.” He winked. “I'll give you some time to get settled. I'll come back later with dinner.” And he did. But what was so strange was...that's essentially all he did. He only came to the basement to give you food and water or to talk. You were starting to think this man needed a swift kick to the balls. His parents must have never told him no. Well, at least the basement had a small window so you could at least tell how much time had past. Three agonizing days. Tim and the rest of the team must be going ballistic. You were forced out of your thoughts at the sound of gunshots upstairs and the thud of something heavy hitting the floor. You screamed as the door was kicked open. Tim came running down the stairs.
“Tim!” He ran up to you and crushed you against him.
“Thank god.” He sighed into your skin and you kissed his cheek. “Come on,” He says while pulling back, “Let's get you out of here.” He starts to walk away and you blink. Did he not notice?
“Uh...Tim?” You pointed to your ankle. His face flushed.
“Oh! L-let me go see if any of the others found the key.”
After Bishop found the key in the suspect's bedroom you headed down to autopsy to get checked out by Ducky before heading back to your apartment. He checked your reflexes, made sure you were properly hydrated and asked if you wanted to talk about your ordeal. You politely told him: not right now. Tim walked in with a wish of the doors and Ducky sent you a knowing smile.
“I'll give you two the room.” Tim waited until Ducky was out of sight before hopping up onto the table beside you.
“(Y/n), I need to tell you something. I know this probably isn't the right time but if I don't say it now I know I'm gonna regret it.” He put his hand on top of yours and you glanced down. He placed his fingers between yours and squeezed.
“Tim?”
“(Y/n), you make every day worth living.” He pauses. “I know we've been fairly casual about our relationship thus far but… would you be willing to go further?” You kept silent for a minute, purely out of shock. Tim wasn't one to normally speak up about things unless it was really important. You smiled. You must be really important to him.
“I am.” Tim made you feel complete. If he was finally ready to move forward, so were you.
Coming home to your door cracked open with McGee please.
You’re just finding your keys in your purse and discussing dinner options with McGee, when his arm sticks out and stops you in your tracks.
You look up. “What is it?”
He doesn’t answer, other than to reach for his gun and stare towards your apartment.
You follow his gaze to find the door to your shared apartment cracked open. Instantly, you’re on alert. “Timmy?” you ask in a small voice.
“Shhh. It’s okay. Call Tony.” His gun is trained on the door. You hurriedly dial Tony’s number. You fumble, fingers nearly misdialing in your hurry.
When the call finally starts going through, you’re aware of McGee’s controlled breathing and your lack of it.
You can hear music playing from inside your apartment. The BeeGees it sounding like. Your eyebrows furrow, glancing at McGee. He looks equally confused.
When Tony finally picks up, the music stops. “DiNozzo, here.”
“Tony? We have-”
But you never get to finish as McGee suddenly takes charge. He pushes past the door, yelling. You follow right after him, confused as you take in the scene of McGee chasing a surprised but laughing DiNozzo.
In a few seconds too late, you realize the music you had heard earlier was just DiNozzo’s ringtone. “What the hell, Tony! What are you doing in our locked apartment?”
He laughs. “Gotta keep Probie on his toes!”
You shake your head and dial for pizza as you watch your boyfriend chase DiNozzo around the living room.
A Snowy Night’s Kiss - NCIS Reader Insert (12 Days of Christmas)
Pairing: McGee x reader
Warning: fluff!
Word count: 991
A/N: This is a small drabble for a Christmas mini-series I am writing. Each story is different, and are even in different fandoms, but I will try to pull in twelve different themes of Christmas. I hope y’all enjoy this one, and the ones to come!
You let out a groan of frustration as you look at the stack of paperwork you still had yet to finish on your desk. It seemed that you never made a dent in the stack, rather, after each case, it looked to only double in size.
Tim had long since gone home for the night and you hadn’t the faintest idea where Gibbs was. That meant it was just you and Tony in the half-lit, deserted bullpen. You bite back another groan as you set your pen down, your eyes automatically finding Tim’s empty desk.
As you stare at his vacant chair, you can’t help but wish that he was actually there. He was your best friend, partner, and love of your life and always made things, work-related or not, better simply by being there. Of course, you had never admitted to him that he was anything more than a partner and friend, despite how painfully obvious it was to everyone but him. Even Gibbs knew.
“Ah, would you just tell him already doll?” Tony’s voice snaps you from your reverie. You turn to him, feigning confusion as you say, “I am unsure of what you mean Tony.”
Tony lets out a bark of a laugh. “Sure doll. The only one who doesn’t know is McOblivious. Heck, I’m sure Ducky even knows by now.” You let out a sigh, knowing you couldn’t fake your way out of this conversation. You turn your attention back to the pen in your hand, fiddling with it as you ask, “What am I supposed to do Tony? I have given him so many hints and he still hasn’t gotten it.” It was quiet for a few minutes after that.
Then you hear Tony stand up from his desk, his heavy footsteps making their way to your desk, causing you to lift your head to look at him. He grabs your jacket from where it was strewn across the small chair behind your desk.
“Y/N, you’ve got to tell him. Stop giving him hints, he’ll never figure it out.” Tony says as he holds your jacket up. You quirk an eyebrow at him, unsure of what he was doing.
“Now. You’ve got to go tell him now.” He adds. You slowly stand up, letting Tony help you with your jacket. You had always wanted to tell him, but could never work up the courage, thus the countless hints you had thrown at him. Now that you knew you would be telling him, a heavy cloud of hesitation and doubt settled over you.
“But, what if he doesn’t feel the same way? What am I going to do then Tony?” You ask quietly as you gather the rest of your things into your bag.
Tony places a soft hand on your arm. In a moment of complete seriousness, he answers. “Then he is a bigger idiot than I thought.” His words make you turn to look at him. He has a far off look in his eyes as he adds, “Whatever happens, you’ll know it wasn’t because you didn’t put yourself out there. And if he is an idiot, then I’ll be right here for you okay?”
You nod and sling your bag over your shoulder. “Now go and find McNerd.” He says, the familiar glint of humor back in his eyes.
The drive to Tim’s apartment is short, much shorter than you would have liked, considering the task at hand. You take a minute to compose yourself before you exit the car.
You reach to grab the door handle of the building when it flies open, catching you off guard and causing you to stumble back. A hand snakes out, stopping you from falling backward. You steady yourself against a strong chest before looking up. Words of gratitude are perched on your lips when you realize that the person still holding you close is Tim.
“Tim.” You whisper, the words you had been ready, or at least as ready as you’d ever be, to tell him moments earlier, flying out of your head.
“Oh, Y/N. What are you doing here?” His voice sends pleasant shivers down your spine.
You step back, in hopes of clearing your head. “I..uh...actually came to see you. I want to tell you something.” You unconsciously pull your jacket around you tighter, in hopes of fighting off the cold December air.
Tim notices the small act and he pulls you closer, wrapping a strong arm around your shoulders. “Why don’t we step inside?” He suggests.
You shake your head and step back from him, your body craving his warmth almost immediately. “I’ve got to say this before I lose my nerve.” You take a fortifying breath before you continue. “I love you, Tim. I have for a long time now. And even if you don’t feel the same way, I needed to tell you.” You whisper.
Fat flakes of falling snow create an eerily quiet, yet tenderly soft, atmosphere as you wait for Tim to say something. He stares at you a long moment before a wide smile breaks out on his face.
Instead of saying anything, he pulls you into his arms, his lips meeting yours in a deeply passionate kiss. You feel a hand cupping your cheek and another on the low of your back. You kiss him until you have to pull back for a desperate breath. He rests his forehead against yours, his hot breath fanning across your face and causing the few flakes of snow resting in your eyelashes to melt.
“Y/N, I have been waiting for months to hear you say that.” He mumbles, his eyes half-closed and his lips parted. A half-smile creeps onto your face as you pull his face down to yours, kissing him and telling him all the things you had been wanting to for months. And knowing he felt the same made this moment even sweeter.

You’re not the only one (Timothy McGee x Werewolf! Reader)
••Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃 Here’s my monster fic! I bet you can’t guess who the other monster is by the pairing...*cough* Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it! 🧡••
You had been eying the clock in the bottom right-hand corner of your computer screen when Gibbs and McGee walked into the Bullpen. You could tell by the way Gibbs was walking that it couldn’t have been a good turn out with the suspect. Tim was throwing things frantically into his go-bag.
“So, how’d it go?” You asked, hoping for a good answer. Maybe you could get home and transform before your wolf side began to take its toll. Holding it in was exhausting, both physically and mentally. If you didn’t transform...well let’s hope you never go down that road again. At least you never did it to a human, yet.
“Claims he was in his hotel room all night.” You giggled.
“How’d he explain his bloody business card at the scene, then?”
“Says he gives them out to everybody so he doesn’t remember the petty officer specifically.” You slouched down further into your chair. Great.
“McGee, (Y/l/n), you’re the first team on stake-out duty.” You bit your lip. A stakeout! That was the absolute last thing you needed!
“Boss-” Before you got another word out Gibbs’s glare was enough to make you bite your tongue.
“I’ve already heard McGee’s objection, I don’t need to hear yours. Grab your gear and head out.” You reluctantly nodded and grabbed your duffel bag from underneath your desk. Tim shared a solemn look with you as you both headed to the elevator.
Not much was said between the two of you as you set up the surveillance camera and microphone in the hotel across the street from the suspects. From your room, you could look down a few floors and see the suspect through the gap in the curtains. For the first hour or so you just sat there watching him through the camera, your eyes occasionally dropping to watch the people on the street below. You watched a man head into an alleyway for a shortcut and you licked your lips. You felt your tooths pointed edges on the tip of your tongue and your heart stopped. You were beginning to turn. You needed to find a place to transform, now, before you couldn’t fight the urges anymore. You abruptly stood up and rushed into the bathroom, swinging the door shut behind you. You didn’t bother to check if it had closed completely before letting out a groan as your nails turned to claws, fur growing all over you. You looked at yourself in the mirror as a knock came at the door.
“(Y/n), are you okay?” As Tim knocked on the door it jostled open.
“I’m fine!” Your voice came out raspier than you would have liked.
“I-!” You couldn’t look him in the eye as you turned away and fell to your knees.
“Please don’t tell anyone, Tim! They’ll kick me off the team, they’ll kick me out of NCIS! They’ll think I’m a freak!” It was silent for a moment before McGee started laughing. You turn to look back at him from where you’re crying on the floor. You narrow your eyes. He seemed paler now than he did a moment ago.
“Oh, (y/n).” He starts. He smirked, your eyes widened seeing fangs. His eyes started to glow. “You’re not the only freak.”
•• For @intheendyouwillalwayskneel 💕 Sorry for taking almost two months haha. I also made it into a two parter or a three parter. I haven’t decided yet. Enjoy! ••
You’d never realized how intimidating being on the other side of the interrogation table was. Staring at yourself in the mirror, slightly flinching at every sound you thought you heard. It was a deserving punishment for those who deserved to be on that side, so, why were you here? You could bet Tim was on the other side of the glass, trying to reassure you some way. He most likely didn’t know why the FBI picked you up in the squad room either. The door opened and you practically thanked god for a glimpse of those beautiful orange walls behind the agent as she entered. You looked her over as she sat across from you, placing a file on the table. She sat there with a certain...confidence. She didn’t come off as cocky. More like, assured. She probably thought you were guilty to a T.
“Let’s skip the pleasantries shall we? If you must address me you may call me Agent Bernard.” You blinked at her French accent. You hadn’t been expecting that. “We both know you killed the Lieutenant.”
“I know I didn’t kill anyone.” You crossed your arms and leaned back into the chair. “My team will prove I’m innocent.”
“You’re team’s been ordered to stay out of this.” You chuckled with a nod.
“They have, huh?” They definitely weren’t going to obey that order.
“Let’s start with the night of the shooting.” She opened the file and pulled out a picture. “How did the Lieutenant end up face down on his floor with a bullet lodged in his brain?”
“As I’ve stated before I was across town in my apartment. I was watching a marathon of my favorite TV show until my husband got home at ten.” She pulled out another photo.
“Then why was there hair that matched your DNA at the scene?”
“Someone could have easily planted it! Seriously, do you F.B.I agents ever think of all the possibilities before arresting someone?” You rolled your eyes. “Not all cases are open and shut.”
“You should know well enough that everything you see on TV isn’t true.”
“No one said anything about TV.”
“Are you going to take this seriously?” She asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice. “You’re being accused of murder.” The door opened and you tried to hide your smirk as Gibbs entered.
“This interviews over.”
“You have no right to-“
“My house, my rules.” You stood up and Gibbs wrapped his arms around you as he leads you out the door. “Take it up with Director Vance.” You leaned your head on his shoulder as you continued to the elevator. You’d figure out who was framing you. You looked up at Gibbs. You smiled as he squeezed your arm. You stared at the inside of the elevator as the doors opened. Even if you had to go behind Timothy and the others backs.
You bit the bottom of your lip as you fumbled with the hem of your skirt.
“This thing is way too short...I feel so naked.” It didn't help you had a low cut shirt as well. You stood in front of the changing room mirror and McGee came up behind you, putting a reassuring hand on your shoulder.
“It’ll be easy. You just have to seduce them.” You laughed.
“You’re kidding, right? I’m about as seductive as a cabbage.” He hummed and he pointed towards the mirror.
“Don't sell yourself short. I see a beautiful woman, I always have. You'll do fine.” You rolled your eyes before turning your head and placing a kiss on his lips.
“Thanks for the reassurance, Tim.” A knock came from the door and Bishop poked her head in.
“You ready (y/n)? Gibbs is getting kind of impatient and I don't want to be around him alone when he's like that.” You smiled.
“I'll be out in a minute, Bishop. Don't worry.” She nodded before shutting the door again with a light click. McGee wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into him.
“Come back to me in one piece, okay?” You nod and bury your head in his chest.
“I will. Promise me something first…”
“What?” He pulled back and you softened your gaze.
“If something does happen. If I do get hurt, in any way shape or form, you have to promise me you won't go all revenge crazy.”
“But-” He interjected.
“Promise.” You narrowed your eyes and he sighed.
“Fine.” You patted his chest.
“I knew you’d come around.”
