The first day light had reached the earth. The white flowers started opening up to the sun like little dancers. It was time.
Anna knew she had to leave now. There was no time for her to wait. Now that everything was still quiet, yet the light was here keeping her company, lighting up her way to to the unknown path she was to take.
She wasn't sure where she was going. But her decision was made. It was made all those nights she was lying awake at night, little rivers of tears dumping her shirts, and the stars being so far away for comfort. Her decision was made all those days she found herself getting smaller and smaller, littler and littler- being with the people that marked her life.
She knew, she always knew deep down that her life was stomped in that house, that neighborhood, those surrounding buildings that suffocated her view of her future, and especially those people who wanted her to stay still, not move, be a forever statue for their satisfactions.
Anna was old enough now, strong enough now to finally leave, escape, explore, break-free. There was no one giving her blessings and happy wishes for her forthcoming journey. But, she had herself, the stars, the moon, the sun, and God.
A ray of light struck her face and she thought- time to finally go. Time to finally leave. Though she knew not where exactly she was going, nor whom she was going to meet, she knew that she would leave all this pain behind. That she knew.
And that's all she really needed to know.
Whatever was to come, she'd face. And more still- there was the real possibility of good things coming too. For now the space would be free for them to come.
She put on her backpack, grabbed her book and stepped out into the light.
