sorry to bother, but now i'm quite curious (since you mentioned a hard agree with my first kiss rankings ask), what are your thoughts about s4's kisses so far? or more generally, how are you finding benophie's story? are you waiting for part 2 to wow you, or are you invested in their journey and ready to roll?

I think Benophie has great, great chemistry! But I wasn't drawn to their kisses until the ending one in 4x04. That was super hot. And I really liked the "bad idea right?" song choice.

I think visually, Benophie's story has been stunning. There are a lot of lingering, beautiful shots. That scene with "Enchanted," in particular, made me cry.

But, and I never thought I'd say this, I have an issue with the s4 pacing. I was someone who frankly never had an issue with the pacing in season 3. Did I want more Polin always? Sure! But, I've always felt very, very lucky that we had so many scenes of them together and separate in the first two seasons. It all evened out, and overall, the third season was so beautifully and tightly written.

Obviously Sophie needs way more screen time, so we can all get to know her story and fall in love. But because of this choice, sometimes the scenes feel a bit too long, bordering on stale, and then some side stories feel terribly rushed as a result. I'm hoping there's a bit more of an ensemble tilt in the back half.

I think the added cast is killing it. Katie is so great as Araminta, holy hell. Rosamund and Posy are perfect. Love all of the downstairs scenes, especially because I watched all of the gilded age and downton abbey last year, so it feels super rewarding to have that angle in this season. And who doesn't love a Cinderella retelling??

Yerin is an incredible lead with so much heart. She magnificently portrays Sophie's quiet and unwavering strength. And Luke is just phenomenal as Benedict. He totally understands who his character is, and he presents a fascinating dichotomy of the "unconventional brother" who is actually quite straight-laced when it comes to abiding by the rules of the ton.

The back half of their book has some good shit in it, so I think I'll be pretty hooked and will most likely like part 2 better. And to be clear, I totally binged the first four eps all at once.
