One of my favorite things about tlb musical that the official recording brings out are all the tiny details.
For example in ‘Time to Kill’ the tambourine just before the drawn out ohs sounds so much like a rattle snake, and as someone who was born in Phoenix, AZ myself and still regularly visits it is INGRAINED in me to listen for that sound. It’s a survival instinct taught to me and my siblings by my parents and grandparents to watch out for them and when I first listened to the official recording chills went down my spine cause it’s done when David sings “I’ve got time to kill.” And it just really drives that line that much further.
David and the pack are still intending to kill Micheal if Star doesn’t so that tambourine is a bit of foreshadowing. The warning rattle to Micheal before the snake strikes.
