#time stranger

So... I've been really quiet for the past however long. Been busy playing Digimon Story Time Stranger lately and really enjoying the game. I have been trying to come up with various Digimon that I could name after the main party of Final Fantasy IX, looking for Mons that I think could work well on various levels. Digimon that could work for multiple reasons, such as visually and/or in terms of lore.

Not all of these are ones I used for this first playthrough of mine, but ones I want to use in late playthroughs. I will list not just state the form that I primarily will be keeping them in but also going through their Digivolution path I got planned. Some of these will make plenty of sense, some may be a bit of headscratchers. Going to do my best to explain my reasons, though I am not always the best at explaining my thought process... Alright! Let us begin!

GARNET: Kudamon > Sorcermon > Piximon > Ophanimon. I think the two of them would be a really interesting duo and so this is my choice for Garnet as a Digimon. For the first playthrough, I pretty much gave up and "cheated" for my choice for Garnet... I just decided to make my started DemiDevimon end as Lilithmon and decided to name her Garnet since I was having trouble with ideas, as I'm pretty much getting back into Digimon after a while of not interacting much with the series.

ZIDANE: Shoutmon > OmniShoutmon. Mostly because I think the tow of them on a heroic journey together could be pretty cool. I think Zidane & Etemon would be a more likely duo and Etemon is my choice for a Zidane on the first playthrough, I also want to try something different on a second.

VIVI: Dracmon > Wizardmon. They are mages with a soft side and potentially terrifying power. I'll likely keep this going forward for various playthroughs, as while I'm not the biggest Vivi fan, I still think he's an interesting character overall.

STEINER: Tsunomon > Zubamon > Buraimon > Duramon > Gallantmon. Steiner as a Gallantmon is just obvious and what I went with for the first playthrough and despite kinda thinking I could change some things, I really just think this is too good of a choice to ignore.

QUINA: Crabmon > Gawappamon > ShogunGekomon > Bacchusmon. This idea came about due to remembering how Quina learns skills by stealing them from enemies through their Eat skill and how the Diaboromon line has a habit of eating any data it wants. Both are gluttonous in different ways but felt that works fine enough in a way. Also, the contrast of friendly yet not so smart Quina and the chaotic nature of Diaboromon is kinda funny to me and so sometimes I have weird ideas because of that... but I changed it to Bacchusmon because I think of them a bit more similar visually and think it's fun to imagine Bacchusmon with Quina's hat.

FREYA: Renamon > Reppamon > Chirinmon > Valkyrimon. This is not the choice I went with for Freya in the first playthrough, that would be her ending as Minervamon, but I want to try something different when that second playthrough starts.

EIKO: Kiwimon > Sirenmon > MarineAngemon. I was having so much trouble coming up with a Digimon for Eiko and was tempted to just give up and go with someone else's idea of ExTyrannomon, but then I did the MarineAngemon side quest and just kinda went "This works." Not the first idea I would have gone with but one I want to keep going forward.

AMARANT: Gabumon > Garurumon > WereGarurumon. Another I was having trouble with, but eventually as I was playing Time Stanger, I ran into WereGarurumon and got inspired.

And so, that is all my choices of Digimon for a sorta FF9-themed party! I'm thinking about creating a post of a party "themed" as SMT characters, specifically a few from SMT V/Vengeance. For that I already know that the Player Nahobino would become Susanoomon, I'm just figuring out some others at the moment.

Still limited in where I can go, but like, to a REASONABLE extent. They're letting me roam around the city! AHHHHHHHH THIS FEELS SO GOOD.

In Cyber Sleuth I always complained about everything being the same. I got bored of either city in the real world, or blue (or green) vague bland dataspace in the net. But right now, after the hours and hours (AND HOURS) of underground tunnels and ruined skyscrapers and sewers, I'm like... A CITYYY!!! YAY! CITY!!! SHINJUKU, I LOVE YA!!!

Alright, now let's do some treasure hunting... :D

Like I figured, it's easy with two Vaccines, especially if they have Fire or Holy techs. They REALLY expect everyone to have an Agumon at this particular point. Well, sorry, I went for Shoutmon because he's my King. (I DO have an Agumon, but I'm not using it; it's that special DLC one that evolves to the ugly-ass Bond of Bravery or whatever from that dumpster fire of a movie Kizuna. I'll probably end up using it and its buddy for enhancements.)

Now I've converted even more DNA Digimon that I didn't want, that will have to stay in the box for who knows how long. Anyway, Piyomon, Kudamon, thank you for saving my behind. You're the stars of the show this time.
