#tile backsplash

So... I'm gonna do it myself. Yeah, DIY, baby!!

I have NEVER done this before. The closest I come to tiling is applying peel-and-stick.

Imma skard 🥴 But Imma do it anyway. 😅

Over the past week or so. I've been watching videos on how to tile. I've also been collecting all the materials I will need: grout, adhesive, trim, a trowel, spacers, a very inexpensive laser level, etc. And I sketched out the layout so I could have some idea of what it will look like

Last night I cut some kraft paper and marked off the space for the backsplash. Then I laid out my tiles in a pattern that I thought looked nice

This morning I prep'd my space with green tape and a plastic tarp.

I cut the PVC trim with house scissors and positioned it with the help of my laser level. It took me all day to gather the courage to do it, but by the late afternoon I had placed my first tiles.

Using the laser level and spacers I did one row and began the second.

Tomorrow I hope to cut tile for the first time. 🙈 I bought a Ryobi wet saw off Ebay. It was extremely affordable and is supposed to be good for DIY'ers.
