one thing ive always REALLY disliked in the books is when they retroactively describe a bad guy's backstory and they say something along the lines of "he had a deep anger inside of him..." at their birth. re: brokenstar and tigerstar in particular is where i can remember this specifically (tbh, breezepelt too iirc)
like, i understand theyre going back and explaining how the bad guy became bad but like... what do u mean brokenstar just like. came out evil and wrong?? all throughout yellowfangs secret it feels like no one even tries to help him sort through his problems (except nightpelt, my goat) because he has this like mysterious innate evil inside him that the characters can sense for some reason
and for tigerstar, its a goosefeather thing which is like a can of worms but i reeeeeeeally always hated the idea that he was destined for evil from the time he was born. didnt we go over this with bramblestar when he was a kit??
idk i feel like the nature vs nuture topic has always been SO muddled in warriors whenever they do anything with it it doesnt make any sense and pisses me off lmfao. unless anyones met just like a really evil ass baby they just KNEW was gonna turn out bad regardless. bc shit maybe i just havent met one yet
