If you have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, then you should avoid following:
• Sea foods: fish, prawns, crabs, lobster, etc
• High iodine foods: cheese, egg yolk, milk
• Gluten food: Wheat, barley, semolina, malt
• Red and processed meat
• Fried foods
Whereas, in hypothyroidism the thyroid gland produces an insufficient amount of hormone, that slows down the metabolism of the body.

• Constipation
• dry skin
• Muscles and joint aches
• Fatigue
• Feeling cold
• Weight gain
Things to avoid if you are having hypothyroidism:
• Few veggies : Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, etc
• Nuts and seeds: Peanuts, millet, Pine nuts
• Fruits and starchy plants : Sweet potatoes, strawberries, peach
• Soy foods : Tofu, soymilk, etc
• Processed foods: Cakes, Cookies, Hot dogs
While maintain proper diet one should also go for regular yoga, exercise, and meditation.
