she hadn't planned on coming. partly because it feels like dawson's house throws a party every weekend these days, and it's hard to keep up with that, but mostly because she's had the worst of all possible days a person can have. but it was addison — sweet, supportive addison — who convinced her to have a little fun, or at least not spend the night sulking alone. and it was addison who snuck her into the house and up to his bedroom, where she waits for him now, because she isn't quite up to socializing with other people. head perks up when she hears the door open, smile soft from her position on the bed. "hey, captain. having fun?"

"have a rough day? you look exhausted," she said to them as she poured them their drink. she set it in front of her. "the first one's on the house," she murmured and gave them a little smile before leaning against the bar top. "come on. vent to me. you know i'm a good listener." lyra hummed as she looked around - the place was busy, but she didn't have any new orders to do and she had someone helping her behind the bar tonight.

"you're not in love with them," rowan mused over her glass of wine, lips wavering on the edge of it as she studied the other as their partner drifted away. it may not come off as such, but rowan meant well. "not to speak out of turn, it's not like i know either of you on a deeper level, but in the short time i have, it seems like your light dims whenever they're around." she knew that look, it wasn't one that screamed love and happiness. "i just think you deserve more than that."
