Captain America
Thereâs so many ways this movie could have gone wrong. Like when they said theyâre gonna put Sam through his paces and make him earn it or something like that. I felt defeated and angry over that. But here we are. Itâs glorious. They didnât mess him up. He was perfect and lol the extremely upgraded suit is so amazing??? They remembered his knife skills, Riley and while I think most people believed he couldnât beat red hulk, the way that scene played out was beautiful and seamless. I canât imagine making a movie when it faces so much hate/denial/rejection from fans and fans working at publications and a society thatâs anti-Black at the core.
But they pushed forward and we ended up with an awesome superhero movie that has heart and does our main man justice. Everything else is a bonus⊠new Falcon!? We knew itâs Joaquin but look at how much care they continued to put in their relationship and the gentle passing of the Falcon mantle. Eternals is back on the menu(!), new Ross is so much better than the old and maybe thatâs why i can believe thereâs some humility and accountability bc I donât think i would have believed Ross is a changed man. Sam is established and receiving funding from wherever plus support, even though itâs from the military bc apparently all the old people just forgot about him and went and got book deals and shit(i will not forgive Scott not mentioning Sam who literally brought him to Avengers). Then thereâs the Bucky cameo, just enough to be meaningful and not just come across as fan service.
Whatever else is going on in fandom, I can bask in the fact that they were careful and treated Sam like someone precious with respect to the characterâs history and relationships and most of all his established leadership skills and emotional intelligence. Sam Wilson is Captain America and the leader of new avengers. And Joaquin is now officially Falcon. I know when other projects are gonna be announced there will be ugly rumors and hate mongering and âleaksâ and MCU making mistakes with naming and character choices but I will remind myself that we now have 2 Sam Wilson projects that turned out amazing so maybe maybe maybe I can exhale in perpetuity. Anyway, Congratulations Sam Wilson fans. We win again.
I just love how he flies so so fast!!?! And it is only appropriate because his origin story includes being Falcon which is the fastest animal on earth. Please go look at the documentary he voiced and tell me the flying doesnât remind of this.
I love how lethal his wings are. I keep thinking of the words Mr. Slice and Dice.
I love how he has friends he can trust and also hang out with. Considering rumors, they could have sent him off on some isolating heroâs journey bs.
The thirsty fight scene without his suit, the details in the office, the scenes that also serves as flashbacks to people no longer here.
The preservation of their relationship from TFATWS. These are the same people that walked off into the sunset.

Canât wait for the movie to come to streaming so I can watch on repeat. â„ïž
