For the time they’d stood together on the ramparts of Rivia Castle, exhausted, soaked in sweat and blood but impossibly, exhilaratingly alive. By all rights, neither of them should be here; their story ought to have ended half a dozen times or more before now. That they are is testament to her extraordinary strength and abilities; she alone could have forged their path to victory.
