Alma smiled, leaning against the kiss and closed her eyes. âWell, back in the day, it wasnât a war zone like some countries in the middle east⌠there were some radical groups who used violence on both extremes, right and left, so there was a coup and people thought they were going to establish some order but⌠well, it only made things worseâ she explained. âSome people said the United States had something to do with it since they were very against communism, you know, after the whole cold war thing going on, and used their influences⌠but then Jimmy Carter sent some diplomatics I believe, not that it made a difference, but my parents know a lot more than meâ she admitted with a soft smile. âIf you are interested, Iâm sure theyâll love to tell you all about itâ she chuckled softly. Alma looked up at him and cupped his face with one hand. âI love youâ she said softly before pulling him into a deep but loving kiss.
âNo I get it, sort of like a cold war just with crazy men wanting to dictate a country.â He told her as he nodded his head listening to the history of her families homeland. âMaybe Iâll ask your father about it,â Kory didnât want to open any old wounds but he was interested in what they did during that time and prior at least. âI love you too.â Kory kissed her back letting his lips linger. He broke the kiss after a moment and rested his forehead against hers. âWe should head back.â Kory told her wanting to check in on his father even though he was sure the old man was fine, Davis would have called him if it was anything otherwise.
