hoyt was a little nervous about what would happen once leyla got here. the teasing was fine and it was something he could handle because at the end of the day, he knew that when the time came, the two of them would cross that line. he wondered if the teasing had gotten to her though and if she really wanted this, to be with him, and of course he hoped that she did. it'd been a long time since he'd been with anyone. at least a few years and it's not that he didn't want to but it was just that he was busy and he had kids he had to take care of. as he heard the soft knock at the door, he went to greet her with a smile. "hey," he started, "your pajamas are cute." he added, stepping back to let her in. "i'm...glad you're here. there's, you know, no pressure by the way. i know that everyone in the chat's been obsessed with what we get up to but," he shrugged and closed the door as he further led her inside toward his room so that the two of them could spend time together without the kids waking up, "i like spending time with you no matter what we do. am i...talking too much?"

there was pretty much no surprise that hoyt was called in after the storm that just rolled through. often times, he was because power managed to go out in at least one neighborhood and it was his job to work on the lines and restore it. so, when he was called, he knew he had to find someone to watch his kids and while he did trust his sisters, he just figured that calling the babysitter a friend of his recommended was probably better than disrupting his sisters' social lives. she, thankfully, was free and able to come in the moment he needed her.
