teamate

As much as coffee was a necessity for someone who tended to work through the night, Mia still preferred tea. She had a whole tea collection, in fact, though she still enjoyed getting tea at a coffee shop (or, more preferably, an actual tea shop). They always came up with fun and interesting new creations, and Mia was usually the first to give them a try (even if they sounded weird).
Today’s tea was pineapple tea with rosemary, and it was delicious. Mia was distracted, however, by the guy who entered the tea shop not too long after her. She’d seen him around a lot; he always came here, and he always arrived after she did. Either this was just a coincidence and he just loved tea as much as she did, or he was following her. Though... she’d never seen him anywhere else, had she?
An idea popped into Mia’s head and she finished her pineapple tea just as he sat down at a table and waited for his to be brewed. Mia went over to the counter and quietly whispered something to the person making the tea, then pulled out a pen and a sticky note from her bag (sticky notes were lifesavers when sewing). She wrote a short message, stuck it onto the large teacup, then left the store.
The message read:
Hey tea guy, are you just as big of a tea nerd as I am or are you stalking me? Either way, let’s have a chat one of these days, it doesn’t have to be about tea.
