Starter for: Arthur Weasley @arthurxweasleyx Where: in a field near Ted's parents' house When: the weekend
It'd taken a while, but Ted and Arthur had finally co-ordinated a trip to the Muggle world. Getting any time off work seemed like an impossible feat, these days. Ted was worn and weary. But nothing deterred him. He'd committed to his job as an Auror, swearing to uphold the law and use it to protect their world. So that's what he was determined to do, even though doubt and fear still weighed upon him at every turn. Sometimes, he was ashamed of himself and his weakness. He kept it all locked away, needing to keep his resolve. But he knew Andromeda could see it. Her looks and her touch told him so, even though they tried not to discuss the war too much. He saw how it weighed on her too, and tried to help her as best as he could.
So he was pleased to get this time away from magical London and was thrilled that Arthur could join him. Last time they'd spoken, Arthur had been fretting over the idea of phone lines and Ted had promised to take him to see some. They were standing in a field near his parents' place, Ted holding a peach cobbler in a Tupperware and Nymphadora running around through the long grass.
"There you go, Arthur," he said, pointing up at the large wires scaling high overhead, leading from the houses on one side of the field to those on the other. "Not only is this a convenient place for apparition, it also has some excellent phone and electricity cables. What do you think of that, then?"
