Awesome yctib integration idea, spoilers below. For those unaware, litematica is a mod that creates a ghostly schematic of a build created elsewhere, usually in a creative world. It comes with a list of blocks required for the build, saving people time and energy trying to reference every block from their test worlds and trying to figure out how much of each material they need. Several hermits have used litematica. I love it as well, it is a lifesaver.
Kakashi walks in on Mumbo using his sharingan to cast a genjutsu on True. He promptly freaks out. Everyone is baffled.Ā
Mumbo casting genjutsu is the only way to activate litematica, which is in high demand.
Since Mumbo casts the genjutsu it eats at his chakra reserves, so he can only cast it on a few people at a time and only for a limited amount of time. Cue hermits being confused about Kakashiās freak out- who doesnāt want access to litematica that passionately? And cue Kakashiās horrified confusion about the āprivilege of being mentally manipulated for multiple daysā.
Plan is for Kakashi to reveal his sharingan and be like āhey, check it out I can ALSO cast genjutsu!ā except he discovers that canāt quite get this one? For some reason?Ā Which is a problem because if his people want to be under a genjutsu that badly he is NOT trusting Mumbo with them.
More world mechanic stuff! Mumbo offers to cast the ālitematicaā genjutsu on him since Kakashi mentions in a bout of frustration that experiencing it might help him understand how the genjutsu works, and eventually Kakashi reluctantly accepts Mumboās offer since he canāt figure the darn thing out. And at least he can fight back, his siblings canāt.Ā
Cue Kakashi getting a schematic and collecting random materials and building a- something.
My siblings ideas were-
world eater. Kakashi is horrified. It obliterates the earth. Within hours, there is a hole deeper than any other on the planet
Mining drill that goes through a mountain and some unfortunate personās house/project. The technically inclined hermits become excited, since this world is supposedly round, and refuse to stop it out of curiosity as to if itāll go into space or come back around the planet.Ā
Some kind of mob farm. This is pure nightmare fuel any way you slice it.
So Kakashi accidentally does a redstone of some kind and is horrified by what he creates. Meanwhile the hermits are like āOh! Guess we got another redstoner, cool, youāre invited to the planning meetings so we donāt lag out the server, Xisuma can explain the rules in more detail if you have any questions.ā Kakashi is excited to be invited to this inner circle, less so that Xisuma might be paying more attention to him. He certainly does not have any questions about the rules.
Etho is a Proud Brother Hen and Doc is planning toĀ adoptĀ kidnap him. Keralis drags Ren to Kakashi and immediately tries to con them into making a tree farm.

The short answer is yes, I think so! The long answer is under the cut. Are the ugly boots cowboy boots or something else? Iāll leave that to you ;)
I was planning to have Kakashi change clothes at some point (soon) to someone elseās clothing so it would be ill fitting and too big, later change back into clothing that is his size but not his style, switch to clothing that is his style but feels too small, and finally heād get clothing that fits him and is not what heād wear before but feels more comfortable somehow. This is meant to reflect how he is changing over time in a way that has an outward expression. Following this idea, I was very unsure about the shoes. But Iāve been thinking about this ask and as of now, I like the idea of Kakashi getting a new pair of boots and slowly breaking them in, especially if they are older type cowboy boots- they didnāt have a left and right foot, so heād have to wear the inside down to fit him in a way that is more defining to the footwear than just breaking it in. Symbolism and metaphors galore.

Thinking about stamping hiatus on my works. My life has gotten a lot busier lately due to shenanigans far beyond my control, and it was already pretty busy. Iāve also gotten rather depressed on top of that. I just donāt think Iāll have the opportunity to write much of anything anytime soon.
Iām also trying to figure out where I could put my works so I can minimize the risk of them being scraped- I already restricted my AO3 to registered users only, but I donāt think that will do much long-term. I can pour over a dictionary for hours tweaking words sometimes, or Iāll wait months just to get the right mood to convey a characterās state in my writing. I will not willingly feed that effort to a generative machine. Iāve been thinking about just taking everything down, but I write for otherās enjoyment too, not just mine. With this in mind, the option of whisking everything away leaves me with something of a bitter taste. Where could I put them? I have no ideas.
Status update. Writing has been happening, just very slowly. Havenāt been in the right headspace to write for a few months, nor have I had the energy sadly. But things are looking up in and this past week has been really good so I ended up making some solid progress.

You Canāt Take it Back Ch. 16 is running long. It is currently 7,500+ words and still going, and itās going to have a part two. We didnāt even get close to Jevinā¦
there may or may not be a YCTiB Zetsu centric oneshot, depending if I can work his segment into one of the upcoming chapters. Iām currently disinclined to make it a oneshot but it is a possibility
Graduates was stalled in part due to plot uncertainty; many of my original plans were written out by other mha/ass class crossovers and so I didnāt want to follow said original plans. I have now figured out an alternate path to take without rewriting an obscene amount of the fic
The narutoxhc oneshot combining my old initial crossover ideas is now in the editing phase (no longer a cobbled draft)
There is a prequel story to You Canāt Take it Back in my drafts. Working title is Set in Stone. Itās Sakumo centric and follows the events of the Hatake family from his perspective long before YCTiB. Itās very rough but it has a direction in mind; may or may not get it to the point of publishing
An old unpublished and unfinished HC series in my drafts, Records of Xelqua, is being poked at. Itās draft was available in a Discord server for a while but I honest to god have no clue if anyone read it
About half of A House of Myth Ch. 2 is complete. Why? No idea. Does anyone like that fic? No. Am I writing it anyway? Occasionally. At this rate we might get a second chapter by 2026

As a fanfic writer the tricky thing, when new Hermits are added, is that I have to watch them. Not watch them, but watch-watch them. I need to know about this person, I need to see their mannerisms and their habits, and I need to see what their character is and how they act when in character. I also need to understand how the human behind the screen plays the game and what that means for the character they portrayā¦ when I write a character I need to sort out what is in reality a character and what is the person behind that, and what can be both and neither. Thereās overlap and also distinctions, and of course there exists the added complexity of interpersonal interactions when there may be a limited pool of reference for a while.
As a nondescript hermit watcher, I merely enjoy the shenanigans and creativity regardless of newcomers. I hope that the Hermits, new and established, enjoy season 10.
Hey folks! I usually donāt make posts like this, but I also donāt usually drop all my fics like this either. Across all my works, I tended to update at least once every three to five weeks, and often Iād post much frequenter than that. Lately that minimum has not been met, much less my āregularā posting, as Iāve been swamped. And I do not foresee this alleviating any time soon. My writings will likely be slow and/or sparse for a while since the end of this year has been especially hectic. Life certainly marches on!
I had intended to finish Tell Them I Donāt Care this year, but unfortunately I doubt Iāll be able to meet my self imposed deadline.
