Lantern mantle - Thorium sample

Here's an incandescent gas mantle, made with traditional thorium nitrates. You're supposed to tie these over the head of a gas lantern; when the flame is lit, the fabric body burns away, leaving a shell of thorium oxide. The thorium oxide then glows from heat and makes the light far brighter.

Thorium is radioactive, and the shell formed when the lantern is burned is brittle and easily crumbles. Since it's very bad to have loose radioactive particles, other metal oxides have become popular; thorium, however, works the best.

I've been a huge fan of Terraria for ages now.

【Stories from childhood】

• I played with friends during my childhood. Way before "journey end" update.

My character name was literally "Mr.GreenXD"

• I played solo and max out by my own.

This is "Mr.GreenXD" but endgame. The was no Terraspark boots and potions have max stack at 30 back then.. it was a pain.

• I used to play Calamity Mod with my friends before the new update model of Siren and Leviathan.

My character is on the first panel "NavyVail" (yeah 💔 it was my OC thinking era. I used this name for all of my Tmod playthough)

• "Navy" was from the fact I love to have my base at seaside and I play rangers like almost every time. ⛵

• "Vail" is for my personal close curtains behaviour. I am usually shy but very talkative within a stage or close area-group. 🙈

• Thorium too. Even before Calamity.
