𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ summary — A troubadour of the orient, the herald of the esoteric; hast arrived adorned in gilded lavaliere and a with song, in the heart of Gaul.

𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ author’s note — As Phoebus is the median counterpart to Frollo and Quasimodo, Lenore (Ligaya behind closed doors) is to the main playwrights/narrators of tHoND; Pierre and Clopin. The three represent the genres of theatre, Mystery, Comedy, and Tragedy respectively.

𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ light symbolism —The three do not literally embody each genre, but rather allow their stories to mirror the very principle of each one.

TRAGEDY 🎭 — Though Clopin is ecstatic and theatrical, the tale he narrates (pertaining to the original NDdP) is filled with strife and ends in tragedy. He is also of the race that gets persecuted throughout the entire novel, thus he and his community’s fate remains shrouded in likely misfortune.

COMEDY 🪶— Pierre, though he seems to have nothing but misfortune at every turn in the novel (a failed playwright, near death experience with the Roma, reduced to a street performer, unrequited love from Esmeralda), his ending is particularly light-hearted, having more fondness for Djali instead of his wife, and flees a discordant Paris. This selfish absurdity allows him to be comedy.

MYSTERY 🪉 —This leaves Ligaya with mystery’. Mystery was a popular genre in the Middle Ages, that focused on retellings of the Bible and stories of morality and virtue. However, Ligaya conjures tales from her folklore, sharing the remnants of home (or what she has left of it). With this framework, she retells the narrative of THoND in her own light, giving the missing piece both Clopin and Pierre failed to include (perhaps a good emphasis on Esmeralda??? Elaborating Quasimodo as more than the hideous juxtaposition??)

(If I were to ship Phoebus and Ligaya, would their ship name be GildedMuse?? 😋🤤)

I may or may not even post about him again so!!!! I just like seeing everybodys thond ocs, like expanding the universe, it’s beautiful….. Clydesdale horses are my favourite breed of horses so i don’t care if they didn’t exist back then covers my ears lalalalalllllaallaaa

With the first drawing, I tried to do realism and to make her arm facing away, but it didn't really work. But I'm very much proud of it!!
