Joel was never the doctor type. In fact they kinda freak him out. Having control in his own life was how he thrived. Doctor’s took that power away from him. In an instant they could turn anyone’s life upside down with a few words.He avoided doctor visits at all costs, but was also the never take medicine type. Not to say that he would risk his daughter’s health. He sucked up his pride and took her to every doctor’s appointment and got her every vaccine she needed.

“Are you the guy Smecker told us about in the message?” Connor asks, looking around and taking in the unfamiliar settings, obviously, and understandably, a bit on edge after everything that had happened to he and his brother. Their ‘miraculous’ escape from prison, finding out that Smecker isn’t actually dead after believing it for long, receiving Smecker’s message to come meet this guy... It’s all too weird.
