Jay had lost the title in 2008 after back to back wins in 2006 & 2007. Many people had written him off after losing the crown to Dexter Jackson, which to me seemed absolutely ridiculous. Jay was still in his prime with no injuries...and honestly I don’t think he was blown out of the water in 2008. I thought he looked good enough at Finals to retain his title...though it was very close. For 2009 he worked with @hanyrambod for the first time. The moment he stepped out on stage it was clear he was taking the title back. He was shredded with those crazy feathered quads! His Pecs, Arms and cannonball Delts were huge and full. He looked to be 270 pounds but was actually 254 pounds. He and Hany had found that magical combination of Shredded and Full that is as deceiving as hell and incredibly hard to beat. In my opinion it was Jay’s best look ever (though 2001 Olympia and 2002 Arnold are also favorites). He made history that weekend in Vegas, becoming the first Mr. Olympia winner to have lost his title and then regain it. So far he’s the only man in history to have done this. It was his 3rd Sandow win, and he went on to win it once more the following year. A great history of @jaycutler by @this_is_bodybuilding. #Repost @this_is_bodybuilding ・・・ Here are some shots of @jaycutler winning the 2003 Ironman Pro. He went on to win the Arnold Classic a week or so later. This physique and the one he displayed a year earlier at the 2002 Arnold were superior to any physique that appeared on the 2002 Olympia stage. Unfortunately Jay did not compete in that show. There is zero doubt in my mind that Jay would have won that Olympia with straight first places across the board. But that’s not what happened. I’m not sure it matters. The 4X Mr. Olympia and 3X Arnold Classic Champion is likely the most successful Bodybuilder in history not named @schwarzenegger.
