What do yall use as a name for Theif King Bakura???
Ill switch between Akefia (older fandom name), Tozouku (name rumored to be his 'Canon name' - or at least it was 10 years ago), or just Bakura in some instances since its also likely that just was his name.
For simplistic sakes ill just use TKB when talking about the character.
But i know theres gotta be other fandom name ideas since the fandom has done the same with Yami Marik. (Who ngl i am not creative with and just use older fandom options from when I was younger)

So, the fic I posted just over a year ago is actually the most recent one on my AO3 account, Take It All Away
I actually really like this fic a lot and am super pleased with the way it turned out! It's admittedly not the happiest of endings and deals with some fairly existential, heavy shit (the cardinal sins of fanfic!) but for me that's like my bread and butter - what makes me super interested as a reader - even if it involves characters and a ship I adore. If I were to go back and write it today from scratch, I'm sure there are turns of phrases I'd use instead or syntax choices I'd change. But overall the concept is exactly what I set out to write, so I'm very proud of it as the example of my most recent fic!
And speaking of...
If you haven't noticed, I've not written any new fics since then, and in fact if you look back on my AO3 history there are very few from the last three years that aren't part of a series or for a zine. And in many ways that makes me sad, but in other ways it's been a bit necessary??
Since last autumn, I have finally gotten back into writing short stories and novel-length manuscripts, joined a writer's group, made time to write in the evenings (and daytime, especially since I'm currently unemployed) and overall am working toward a life where I can make writing a big part of both my professional career and personal life.
I would sincerely love to return to fanfic sooner rather than later (especially to finish the Domestic Ishtars series!) while also maintaining the work I've put into my original stories. Whether that balance is feasible yet is hard to say, but for now I am glad that this most recent fic serves as a template for the sort of off-kilter fare I love to write - and which I hope others love to read :)
