I've been rereading The hitchiker's guide to the galaxy and I'm loving it but I keep thinking abt how those booktok "only read dialogue" people would react to it because yes the dialogue is great but also.. The book is just factually not as good (or even understandable) without the narrator. Most of the humor come from us the reader being told more information abt the situations or characters, and the contrast of the narrator's tone being somewhat serious with the usually ridiculous information makes it even funnier. Actually, the point of the book IS the narrator, because the story in some ways fonction as an exemple taken out of "The hitchiker's guide to the galaxy", as in the book that exists in the story. anyway reading is cool.
