The definition of girl power and friendship 💜 literally two of my favourite people 💜
Regret was a corrosive draught and there was nothing Addison regretted more than having not turned around and run that fateful morning. How long ago it had been she wasn’t exactly sure, the one thing she was sure of was that on the other side of the left wall she’d managed to make a friend. Someone else who was in need of being ‘fixed’, at least she hoped there really was. No one else seemed to have been added to her wing which seemed to split off. Maybe she’d lost her mind.
“They made me set a table today, I think almost fifty times.” She replied, “There were more measurements of my head but they seemed particularly focused on hosting a party of 24.”

It had taken a few days for it to finally hit her. The wig was gone, crumbled up and thrown into the trash. A huge gesture in the moment turning into shock as she stood there fully dressed in her uniform a week later and reaching for something that wasn’t there. So she stood frozen eyes locked on every lock of choppy white hair before her. It was hideous. Maybe not for the colour but the cut most definitely, short and long and sticking out all over the place. It never seemed important before when they cut away at the blindly bright hair, short little bits small enough not to be noticed as they were mixed up around in the garbage. Just enough came off to keep the wig flat on her head and the evidence clear. B e a u t y wasn’t the focus and now she had only the ugly mangled mess on her head left. Reaching upwards she tried to comb her hands through it, flattening it, braiding it, what she did not truly know. The one thing she did know however was that all she wanted in that moment was to crawl up into a little hole with her horribly imperfect hair and wait it out until it was once more long enough for her to do lovely things with it again. It had been quick work explaining her feelings to her Mom, her parents more than understanding why their daughter would wish to hide away with her hair like this although maybe not for the same reasons. They would call her in sick and she could take a mental health day but it left her with the task of lying to ZED. The one person who she was worried would see right through her, maybe it didn’t work the same over phones. Taking a deep breath she dialled and immediately began speaking keeping her voice a mix between rough and peppy.
“Hey Zed!” Already her voice cracked slightly but with a cough she tried to play it off. “So um--” Eyes tearing she could only be thankful he couldn’t see her thoughts of her hair playing on a loop in her head. “I’m sick, like super sick and my Mom called me in. I just wanted to let you know so you wouldn’t be waiting around for me outside.”

“Hi!” The white haired girl cheered appearing at the side of the supposed zombie her hair still moving in time with the sudden motion. “I don’t think we’ve been introduced yet, I’m Addison.” At this point she knew almost all of the newly acquired students to Seabrook High through the circle that was Zed, Eliza and Bonzo. Addison knew most everyone in Seabrook but had never really been close friends with many people always trailing after Bucky instead. Bree had been her first real friend and then with Zed the rest fell together perfectly. But the zombies were all much more tight knit than the humans from what she’d experienced. “I haven’t seen you after school much so I figured I’d come over and see if you were interested in joining any sports or something.” Full integration was important and she was not about to leave anybody behind.

“I’m begging you.” Addison added voice ever so slightly pitiful as she trailed behind the zombie. “I don’t know why I picked computer sciences as an elective I just thought it was going to be fun like typing classes when we were in elementary school.” She didn’t actually know if her friends had the same computer classes as she had, or any at all. However this moment was incredibly important and that could fall to the side at the moment. “I might actually fail this class, and if I do my Dad is going to ground me.” She pleaded jumping forward to be in front of Eliza. “He’s already looking for reasons to not let me out of the house, I really can’t afford giving him this excuse.” Despite the barbecue all was not peachy-keen in Seabrook still and her Father remained the Chief of the Zombie Police Force. “Plus I’ve never gotten an F before, it might ruin my future and you are the smartest person I know. Eliza you’re my only hope.”

’ you have the biggest heart out of everyone i’ve ever met. ’ (from zed :)
compliment sentence starters. || @theyslay
hand teld tight to the taller’s on their little stroll through zombietown’s streets. she swayed them back and forth happily. the underlying knowledge that they shouldn’t be out here, doing this in the light of day, failed to stop her from feeling so giddy over the fact it was happening. and that’s just gar-garziga for you.
she pauses when he speaks, and she shakes her head.
‘ thank you, zed. i just wish everyone could-- i don’t know, see it too ?? not me having a big heart, just... that you’re not different at all. i mean look at this place. it’s so pretty. you guys are great !! the fact people don’t see it is just-- sad. ‘
