So thankful for family. This past year I’ve created and grew a little community of my own the Bay Area and I’m so thankful for the friendships and family we’ve acquired. Today we are celebrating with my sister, her husband, and her new family in Portland, OR. I love how family grows, shifts, and no matter what, they will always be there. You can’t teach experience. I must be loved. I use to see photos like this one and double tap and tell myself that some day I will build the courage to play with light that way. Who likes to be vulnerable?? Not me? But I’ve watched enough Netflix documentaries on influencers and social media gurus to know that our new targeting techniques need us to be more vulnerable because for some reason they think vulnerable = relatable. Which is not true but soo true! I broke down and cry to Deth yesterday because I always feel like I can’t tell the story of me and how I got here without mentioning the good choices I made AS WELL AS the bad ones. Random thought about Valentine’s Day: There was this girl in my French class in high school who did her final culture project on the month of February because she felt that “when you think about love, you always think of February, Valentine’s Day, hearts, lovers, and Paris.” She then went on to talk about Saint Valentine, who wasn’t from France, however still reminded her of Paris and love and shared his story and how he became a saint and so on... well, I mean I hope you get that she made no sense... 😘 She got a C for effort because 1. The project had to have something to do with France (being that it was French Class) and 2. The only thing that really related was of course “Paris” and it had nothing to do with what she was talking about!! 🤔 Or did it? Idk, it’s been more about 20 years and I’m still like... “but don’t you think of love when you think of Paris? And isn’t Valentine’s Day all about love and also in the month of February?” 😂😂... I went in circles with trying to understand where she was coming from and I realized this girl was hopelessly in love and sometimes it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but you... This winter is kicking me in the butt!! I remember when I use to live in Colorado and Montana and how I’d walk outside in with a sweater in -20 degree weather and it was nothing but since moving to the west coast.... it’s been a whole different story!! 🤔 I think the change in altitude had something to do with it? Idk... but I’m sick again!!!
