The Use of Force
By: William Carlos Williams
The Use of Force by William Carlos Williams for me was really interesting story. It was a story about the girl of course also why's the tittle was The Use of Force. You will understand the meaning of that if you are continuing reading this. Now, the use of force is actually about the girl who was suffering from diphtheria in the doctor's point of view. But the little girl only suffering from a sore throat. But still, the doctor wants to see her throat to check if there's a sign of diphtheria. But the little girl was refusing and stubborn. The doctor convinced her but she was still refusing until the doctor loses his patience. They force the kid as well as her parents tightly gripped onto her arms so that the doctor can see her throat. But still, the little girl fighting them. Eventually, it didn't go well because the girl's mouth bleeds by forcing her. But in the end, the doctor's win. The girl left defeated and teary. This story telling us that, using force sometimes was good. It was for one's own good. But somehow, when the things we get by forcing can return something that dearest to us because of the process. We should think how would they feel if we use force. We need to convince them 'til they finally let their guard down. There's always a plan A, B, C, D in everything. We still can do the job without forcing them causing them to get hurt. And once they get hurt, the memories of it will stuck forever for them.
