Love Equals Death is back!
Former Fat Wreck Chrods punk band Love Equals Death are teaming up with SBÄM Records, Say-10 and Post-Punk band The Static Age to release their upcoming split 7″ on Halloween. We had a quick chat with front man Chon Travis.
How are you doing? I'm doing quite well, thank you. What is the current line-up of Love Equals Death and how did you guys meet? The current line-up for the band consists of Jonny Myers- Drums, Jeremy Lantz- Bass, and Chon Travis- Vocals and Guitar.Jeremy and I (Chon), met when we were pre-teens in Ukiah, California where we both grew up and Johnny answered an ad for a drummer on the internet and when we met him it felt as though we'd known him all our lives. Where do you practice? We practice in Los Angeles, California. In a recent interview you announced a new full length. Do you have a release plan yet? We don't have release specifics at this point. We are still in the planning stage of songs and arrangement so far. You are releasing the 7" with Say-10. Are you currently signed with a label? The 7" record is being handled by SBAM records in Europe and Say-10 Records in the US. We are not in contract with any labels at this point. What else do you do beside writing and recording with Love Equals Death? For me, I ride skateboards, paint, and try to help my community by donating time to youth projects. Johnny is actually a writer as well as a drummer. You can look up his book "Mere Mortals", buy it. Jeremy, is a world traveler and a well know bar keep in Hermosa, Ca. Your European Tour and US festival shows got cancelled. Are you going to re-schedule the dates in 2021? The cancellation of those shows are very saddening, but we hope to get those dates rescheduled for 2021...YES! Any other plans in the pipeline for Love Equals Death? We do have some near future plans that we will announce in the next couple of weeks and as far everything else, we just hope to record new songs, get on the road and tour, and do what we enjoy doing. Thank you for reaching out to us, I really appreciate it.
