REVIEW: The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion. Such an interesting read. A great sequel to The Rosie Project. This takes place after the first book as Don and Rosie test their relationship with the news of a baby on the way. It was such an interesting way to show Don's thought process through it all. There are a lot of moments that confuse him that may seem obvious to the reader as the events play out and I think that added a lot to the book. Watching how his mind worked as things around him happened that he couldn't comprehend. Their relationship in this book was difficult to read as you only get Don's view on everything. I think if we saw more from Rosie, I would be able to sympathise with her more. I also really enjoyed learning more about the side characters and see all of their relationships develop. I especially liked the boys nights group. Their chemistry was hilarious to read. Book 12 of 50 had to be #therosieeffect I loved the first novel in this series. I had some reservations about the way it ended, but overall it was a good time. The Rosie Effect was different. I hated it. My skin crawled from start to finish. I understand these novels are told from Don's perspective but this book needed Rosie. I couldn't grapple with her motivations when I wasn't in her head. Don came off exactly how, I am sure, Simsion wanted. It just didn't sit well with me. The miscommunication trope is not something I whole heartedly throw myself into and it was such a big miss for this story. 📚BOOK REVIEW 📚 I really enjoyed reading The Rosie Project so I knew I had to continue with this series. And it was a great continuation because I grew more fondly with Don Tillman. I'm not too keen with Rosie. I mean I like that she accepts Don for who he is and that is something I like about her. However, her personality is way different than what I picture for Don to be with. And now knowing that she became pregnant, she still could have talked to Don that it's going to be way different now that he has to think about a baby. For Don, it's hard to actually feel the emotions and register them like any regular person would. But gosh darn! Don was putting a lot of effort in his own intellectual way and Rosie has been in her own little world to actually see it. I likes that he made new friends and even his friends accepted how he is and kept giving him support and advice whenever he can't This was a fast pace book and overall I enjoyed it because Don Tillman is my man. I give this book four stars.
