After a brief chat today about adding something extra to cycling, not just going out - pedalling - coming back. An ideology of enrichment; of visiting local points of cultural significance or tracing a route with historical significance, my Dad disappeared up stairs to return with a 20 year old set of maps charting the UKs canals.
