Not my dog, but my mother's dog Happy whom I helped train. He's not much of a one for tricks but one thing he has mastered (to the extent that he'll volunteer it when begging, in the vain hope that it will get him human food) is 'rest': lying down and putting his head on his paws and sometimes even closing his eyes.

putting the head down is such a cute little trick! it’s definitely on my list of things to teach haha

I could ask my dog to do any command and she always starts to over perform – first she'll sit down, then immediately beg, then tries to give a paw or both paws and then lays down. And if I don't give her a treat fast enough she'll go for another cycle.

Xena the poodle likes 'speak' the best, or at least that's the one she tries when we're teaching her a new trick and she doesn't know what exactly we want.

Yeah, I mean, being a bird is great and all but I’m not sure it necessarily fixes the suicidal despair that comes with knowing the deaths of everyone you ever loved and all your monstrous deeds were done for nothing.

There are pressure sensitive pens for the Samsung Galaxy if it has enough processing/ram oomph for your needs. Google Pixel book also looks pretty good, but it's gonna be about as expensive as a Surface.
