Revoltech Magneto, in all his glory, is now mine. I don’t purchase imports often, but I could pass on a local pick up of this caliber. He is as gorgeous and as lethal as I remember him in X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel vs Capcom. Too many accessories to list, and too many details to praise. All I can say is he is worth every dollar spent. Portrayed perfectly by both Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender in film and voiced wonderfully by David Hemblen in the 1990’s animated series. As for the character, Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, born Max Eisenhardt in the late 1920’s, is of German-Jewish descent, and escaped and survived Nazi imprisonment and torture. This experience would shape his worldview, and as he realized his potential as a homo superior, or mutant, he came to believe that humans would never accept him or his kind and ultimately waged war against both human and mutants alike in hopes of achieving independence for all mutant kind. Madman. Tyrant. Radical. Terrorist. Mutant. Healer. Savior. Protector. The absolute most badass mutant ever, my favorite mutant, and one of my all-time favorite characters. In the past 48 hours, I got to kick it with my homeboy @anemosity, sell some toys, told I was underserving of a promotion by my program director, talked a friend out of suicide who I hadn’t talked to in years, enjoyed the world’s most delicious strawberry shake, shared light and laughter with a few of my closest friends, discussed professional ventures with @pricelessxo, planned for the future, made sure I was involved in what’s going on in the life @dragonrm, listened to some battle stories from the old lady, got stuck in the world’s most frustrating traffic, started reading a book by Neil deGrasse Tyson, sucked at basketball, did #BODYPUMP @mililani24hourfitness with the legendary Virginia, cooked BBQ pork shoulder and butt, ate vegetarian lasagna, washed 3 loads of clothes and sink half-full of dishes, helped some friends apply for jobs, re-did my cousin’s resume, and slept for a total of 13 hours. I feel happy, sad, motivated, accomplished, exhausted, proud, heart-broken, excited, defeated, hopeful, and worried about the future - all at the same time. I pray for guidance, peace, inner serenity of my soul so that I can make clear, correct decisions daily. I send these prayers into the universe every morning and every night. I wouldn’t be able to save the world everyday if it weren’t for my family. My wife and I are so different, yet make for the most effective team I’ve ever been a part of. I look forward to seeing how our unique relationship evolves. She blessed me with a beautiful son, the most Wonderful person I’ve ever know. Without him, I’d have been dead or in jail by now. He is my heart and everything I do, I do it because of him.
