#Repost @wnbrbrighton with @get_repost ・・・ #TheNudeNormal As you will all be aware, this year we have had to postpone the June ride due to coronavirus. It was a difficult decision to have to make but we were left with no choice. During the lockdown, many of us have realised that the world was running so fast we had no time to think and even less time to see the damage we were doing to both the environment and ourselves. Stepping back, even briefly, has made us realise that spending time with our families is important and daily exercise can even be fun! As a result of reduced traffic and its pollution in the city many people have been able to enjoy cycling on the roads and consequently taken to riding their bikes more. One welcome development is the council’s brave step to install a new temporary cycle lane on the Old Shoreham Road. In addition, closing Madeira Drive to traffic has highlighted that open space to ride and walk in the city centre is very welcome. The Naked Bike Ride exists to highlight these and other issues such as body freedom and the freedom to be who we want to be. In place of a ride this year, we would like you, our regular riders, to submit pictures of yourselves, your friends or relatives highlighting in some way our messages of body freedom, carbon free future, less dependency on oil and freedom of expression. This could be through, but not limited to art, body painting, bike decoration or anything that you had planned for the ride. When submitting please use the hashtag #thenudenormal (at Brighton and Hove) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBTmIOan8eE/?igshid=1j16c67fvufjm
